Publisher's summary

Lives saved. Levels gained. Threats higher.

Glenn Redwood, Town Guard, has steadily gained levels while protecting the Townsfolk of Wolfpine and its young adventurers from monsters.

The lives he has saved make his duty worthwhile, and fleeting visits from his childhood sweetheart Becka... now training as a Junior Blazer... makes standing watch a bit more bearable. Glenn is content living a good life among good people. Yet the Gods are far from done with him.

When Glenn’s old friend, Zack Silverstone, and the fugitive Soulseer, Anna Bronzelight, uncover an ancient threat that could destroy Wolfpine, Rebecca Coldbreaker and her fellow Blazers are called to action once more.

Circumstances arranged by the Gods will set Glenn, Zack, and the Blazers on a path that may end up costing all of them their lives. Even if they manage to save Wolfpine, none will ever be the same... and some may not survive.

Book 2 of a new action-packed LitRPG adventure with strong-to-stronger progression, strategic battles, endearing characters, and slice-of-life elements.

About the Series: Join Glenn as he shows just how large a small town can be, making new friends and supportive allies as he gains experience for everything from 'Watching the Gate' Quests to 'Slay Attacking Monsters'. Have you ever wondered while playing Skyrim or other RPGs what the guards are up to when you're not around? Probably not. But maybe you should have...

Keeps You Hooked

I've been a fan of Jake Brannigan's Divine Progression series since the first book, and I was eagerly waiting for the second one to come out on Audible. I'm happy to say that Soulseer did not disappoint. It's a thrilling and immersive LitRPG adventure that follows the protagonist, Alex, as he continues as a Town Guard.

The narration by Neil Hellegers is superb. He brings the characters to life with distinct voices and emotions, and he captures the excitement and tension of the action scenes. He also does a great job of conveying the humor and sarcasm that are sprinkled throughout the book.

One of the things I love about this series is the balance between the game mechanics and the story. The author does a fantastic job of explaining the rules and systems of the world, without making it feel like an info dump. The level-ups, skills, items, and quests are all integrated into the plot and the character development. The book also introduces some new twists and challenges that keep things fresh and interesting.

The characters are another strong point of this series. Alex is a relatable and likable protagonist, who has a realistic mix of strengths and flaws. He's not overpowered or perfect, but he's smart, resourceful, and determined. He also has a good sense of humor and a moral compass that guides him through his choices. The supporting characters are also well-developed and diverse, each with their own personality, backstory, and motivation. The interactions between them are realistic and engaging, ranging from friendship and romance to rivalry and betrayal.

The book ends with a satisfying conclusion that wraps up some of the main plot threads, but also leaves some questions unanswered and hints at what's to come in the next installment. I can't wait to find out what happens next in Alex's journey, and I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys LitRPG, fantasy, or sci-fi genres.

Frankly not nearly as good as book one

I really enjoyed book one, Neil Hellegers does a superb job as he always does but it was not enough to propel this to the heights of book one in my view
