Well.. I'm hooked

Amazing character development, amazing and lively world, and most of all relatable characters. Add in plots and twists, this is a book I was happy listening to.

Such a good story.

This book was extremely well written. The title is the only thing that was kind of off putting. I feel it took away from the entire beginning, Knowing that he was going to be chosen as a Town Guard against his wishes killed any sense of anticipation for the coming of age ceremony itself.

Boring, bland, and crude

Storyline is slow and the title literally is the great reveal. Everything feels very obvious like can guess what will happen way ahead and there is no mystery or strategy. The skills are cut and paste basic skills you could find in a generic game. Finally, in a fantasy novel of a world that is pious why is every female saying they want to get boned literally using that word. I can get joking around but come on it's every conversation with every female. Anyways, if you have listened to a lot of these types then don't expect to be blown away. It's just a bare bone story with very sexual language but no sex since its banned till he turns 18 by the gods.....

The pacing is on the slow side .

The pacing is on the slow side, even for a slice of life story. The world building really restricts the agency of the characters.

Very Detailed

I enjoyed this book a lot. I like the progressesion of the MC and how even though he doesn't get the path he wants, he gets the path he's suited for. An issue I had with the book is the beginning felt as if it dragged on. I feel like the author could have trimmed down the fight in the beginning of the book. But don't let that stop from getting this book I would say it's worth it.
