Publisher's Summary

The Lightwoods, the Shadowhunters who run the New York Institute, are expecting a new addition to their family: the orphaned son of their father’s friend, Jace Wayland. Alec and Isabelle aren’t too sure they want a new brother, and their parents are not assuaging their fears, too occupied with the dark news that Raphael Santiago, second-in-command of the New York vampire clan, has brought from the Shadow Market.

Cassandra Clare did it again!! I'm hooked...

This is a great story told from Jem's perspective, which is something I have been hoping for since I first read the Clockwork Angel. Inspired!

Cute

This was an enjoyable romp. Lily 's remarks had me laughing. The narrator gas a great voice. I'm looking forward to this series.

love the City of Bones series but this is lacking

I'm a huge Cassandra Clare fan and live her City of Bones series, have read and loved all of her books so was glad to find these short stories, but this was disappointing, not at all the quality of writing I am accustomed to from Cassandra Clare.

Will and Jen

Thanks Cassie for keeping Will present with Jem in this book. And Jace, Alec, and Izzy are too cute.

Great

This world of shadow hunters is my favorite to escape to. Although the stories have humor and adventure and love the dispair and sadness always hits me the hardest.

good way to begin

I didn't love it to the extreme but I found it very insightful into both Jens character and how Jace has developed from that point in time to the mortal instruments

I was very confused

The book was all over the place I did not know what was happening all through the book. The story line was not clear. what was the story about?

in my feels

Will and Jem are my favorite ship/parabati pair. the bond/struggle of Zach to remain Jem. CC/SRB didn't disappoint. it's so nice to see a "behind the scene/prequel" loved it

To short

I liked the story line. It was basically like a short story series which is okay but I thought it would be a little longer than it was.
