More of what you already love

I'd forgotten how much I missed these characters and this world.
My only problem with this book is that there wasn't more.

A warm and satisfying collection

Better in Black by Cassandra Clare was such a treat to read. I loved every story in the collection. Part of me wished the stories had been arranged in chronological order, but as someone who has read all the books that lead up to these after stories, I had no trouble placing each one in the timeline once I settled into it. The whole book felt like a cherry on top of a sundae. Each story wrapped up beloved characters with a little bow on top, giving just enough closure while still celebrating everything that makes this world so special. The narrators added so much depth to the experience. Every voice felt thoughtful, emotional, and fully engaged in the Shadowhunter world. I especially loved the voice of Jace Herondale. That character carries so much weight in the series, and I am always grateful when a narrator understands him and captures his personality the right way. This team did exactly that.

A return to a beloved series

Loved that each story had its own narrator and that readers got to be back with their favorite characters for a bit.

I've missed the shadowhunter world

this was exactly what I needed to get out of my reading slump. I do wish so very badly that Cassandra would finish the shadowhunter world. I feel that there are too many unfinished books. but this book does give you a peek into our beloved Shadowhunters lives it's just not enough. so give stars because I love this world but personally the author gets 2 stars until she finishes this world. we have all been suffering sense we were teens I am now almost 30. 😭

So enjoyed all these little stories. I appreciate the continuation of my favorite characters. My favorite was Simon and Isabelle. Great and quick read. I recommend highly.
