Publisher's summary

She wrote the book on escaping a predator.... Now one is coming for her.

Faith Finley has it all: She’s a talented psychologist with a flourishing career, a best-selling author, and the host of a popular local radio program, Someone’s Listening, with Dr. Faith Finley. She’s married to the perfect man, Liam Finley, a respected food critic.

Until the night everything goes horribly wrong, and Faith’s life is shattered forever.

Liam is missing - gone without a trace - and the police are suspicious of everything Faith says. They either think she has something to hide or that she’s lost her mind.

And then the notes begin to arrive. Notes that are ripped from Faith’s own book, the one that helps victims leave their abusers. Notes like “Lock your windows. Consider investing in a steel door.”

As the threats escalate, the mystery behind Liam’s disappearance intensifies. And Faith’s very life will depend on finding answers.

Can't get past the narrator....

As soon as I heard the prologue I had to pause to see if this is the narrator I swore I'd never listen to again- the voice of Kate in When She Returned By- Lucinda Berry. & unfortunately it is. Narrators can make or break a story. I made it to Ch. 5 before giving up. This is the 3rd book by Seraphina Nova Glass that I've read/started. The audiobook of A Quiet Street with Imogen Church- the story, the narration- 10/10! Then I bought a copy of The Vanishing Hour- amazing! I may try the paper version of this story as I didn't particularly dislike the story. It was purely the narration that has influenced my rating.

Everyone is your enemy

A great take on a psychological thriller set in my hometown, Chicago. It was a fun ride through the city and suburbs I call home while trying to find the clues to solve the mystery. The plot is twisty enough, you are never quite sure you have the right suspect or if you even know what the hell is going on really.

It was definitely a fun read (listen).

Pretty Good!

This book held my interest, although sometimes the narration could be a little annoying. There were a few twists and turns which made it pretty interesting. I would recommend this book.

Ok

Didn’t hate it but definitely not my favorite. Just seemed to drag on as the suspenseful twist didn’t come until the very end of the book.

Loved it!

Very good domestic thriller. I didn't love our heroine so much as she was a judgemental person, but she had a lot going on and I enjoyed listening to her story. I thought the narrator was perfect for her voice.

Narrator

Love the story line but it’s been almost painful to listen to because the narrators voice and pronunciations are so annoying to me. The sentences never sound complete which makes the end of a chapter hard to hear until the start of the new one.

The relatability of the character and grief

Some things were a little predictable. Overall still a very good read. The author has potential

Irritating voice. Decent story.

The story dragged out a bit, but was fine. The narrator’s nasal voice was not pleasant at all.

Kept me interested

Good story. The narrator was a little hard to listen to. Kind of a valley girl voice. I sped the listen up to 1.5 and it was easier to listen to.

God story irritating narrator

I almost stopped listening several times because the narrators voice so so grating and irritating. Loved the story though.
