Publisher's Summary

A war is brewing in the Empire.

Not the War in the East - that is a war everyone already knows about, the war that some wanted to end so badly that they murdered an Emperor to stop it. No, this is a different war. A war between the Shadowlands and the mortal world, a war between light and darkness. A war the Brotherhood of Culo has warned about for generations. But no one wanted to listen.

And as war brews, an Empress in exile struggles to regain her crown, and the warrior sworn to protect that Empress fights to make it back to her. Yet the warrior faces an enemy which even she, the Empire’s greatest living sword master, may not be able to defeat: The warrior battles time itself.

And time is running out for the soldiers of the House of Dorsa.

The shadows are coming. Can you hear them?

This is book two in a series of three. Listen to Princess of Dorsa first!

Best Girls

✨💖Joslyn is a cottage core lesbian, because having a sword wasn’t enough💖✨

Tasia also adopts a baby gay, so I’m here for this book⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can't wait for Empress of Dorsa

This was a great 2nd installment in the series, I got through Princess of Dorsa in 2 days and tore through Soldier in another 3. Amazing series with character you truly root for, and a high-stakes plot that can really rope you in. I love the worldbuilding in this second book, adding detail to stories and character histories we only got hints of in the first one. I really love not only Tasia and Joslyn, but the supporting characters as well (Brick! Linna! Ku-sai! Milo! Ammanta! So many). I wish the author the best so that Empress can come out as soon as realistically possible haha

Took me a few months to finish but I was just being salty

I put the book down after about hour five when it became apparent that Jocelyn and Tashia would spend the majority of the book apart. I was just being salty, there was nothing wrong with the story and a few months later I picked it up again. I’m really glad I finished it because it was an incredible tale. I read another review saying that this story is near plagiarism from the lord of the rings. That could not be further from the truth. This book is completely unique and I eagerly await the next installment.

Sleep the only thing that stopped me from finishing this book in one sitting

If there’s a merciful higher being then there will be another book I’m so invested in this story and how it ends that I’d be crushed if just ended now the characters storytelling and everything about this was pure magic

Adventure and Excitement

Exciting and complex. Well developed character stories within a multilevel storyline. Excellent read. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Fantastic. Highly recommend.

I could not stop listening! As with the first book in this series, I feel that we’ve finally been given a LGBQT storyline that is well written, brilliantly creative/entertaining, and had zero cringeworthy pandering gay moments that are so prevalent in this sub-genre.

Also, I had to admit to my wife that I have a HUGE crush on Jocelyn. When does the movie/tv show come out?!

Repeated battle for your lesbian love :-*

I appreciate this writer for the LGBTQ+ community. I’ve listened to many audible books from poor to great. This is a good book! I will even listen again once the next one comes out. It is nice to hear good narration of book in a genre I enjoy that reflects my lifestyle.
;-}~
It was great to hear backstories of the characters intertwined with the ongoing story in progress. It was easy to follow the story from each character’s perspective even though they were far apart. At times I was nervous, cheering, or near tears at the ongoing struggle. The ending definitely left me eager for the next book.

Instant favorite

Rich world building, well-developed characters, and an engaging story. I wish that Tasia and Joslyn reunited earlier in the story, BUT I understand how important it is for both characters to be apart so they can grow as strong people separately. Additionally, their reunion was more meaningful and special when it did happen finally. Curious to see where the other people in their crew ended up. I can’t wait for the third book!

oh sweet baby donkey 😅

Fantastic, can't-put-it-down fantasy with relatable, lovable, characters. While the fantasy takes place in a patriarchal society, the central characters are female. Continuing to reveal Joselyn and Tasia's characters, while developing said characters through page-turning, trial-by-fire growth, is Eliza Andrews' gift to the reader.
Tasia and Jocelyn's struggle against the inherent dismissal of their ideas, skills, and birthrights because of their sex is an altogether shamefully familiar one, and woven cleverly throughout the book. I particularly like that though given no establishment to share information like the brotherhood or wise men, females find ways to pass vital information to the sisterhood, nevertheless.
Sequels, in my experience, are usually less than their originals. This book is an exception. This series is increasingly enjoyable with each book.
I am looking forward to book 3, when I will binge all the books.

Keep up the great work!

slightly disappointed but good book

don't get me wrong the book is great and story is ok but its in the gay/lesbian category but with only 2-3 kisses not in life but only in the shadow lands and only in the last 10 minutes of a nearly 23 hour long book they actually get to spend time together. the first book was so much better I think this book just went off course a little.
