a bastion of self acceptance

like most of the people who will read this book, I am not a sociopath. and, like most of the people who will read this book who are also not sociopaths, i found it incredibly relatable.
We've all felt apathetic when maybe we "shouldn't" have, and we've all done morally questionable things.
this memoir feels like an invitation to question our own morality, and to accept the diversity of the human experience.
I'm grateful. i hope this book will spur others in the field of psychology to do work specific to expanding the understanding of and treatment available for individuals with sociopathy, and other antisocial personality disorders.

A COMPELING LISTEN UNLIKE ANY YOU'VE HEARD BEFORE!

I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS!! but I feel compelled to after reading this book. Once I began listening, I literally could not stop! The author did such a great job of letting her readers into her life, her conversations, her thoughts, her challenges and her relationships. As I listened I felt that what I was hearing was very genuine and heartfelt while at the same time very entertaining. She compels the reader/listener to feel what she cannot, to hope she finds her answers, and to applaud at those times when she does. I hope she continues writing more books!
