Tragic and healing

This book is tragic And brought up memories from my own childhood.

I would like to commend the author that she brought up that sexual abuse can feel pleasurable at times and that can be your bodies natural response.

This fact is hardly spoken about and holds a lot of shame for the victim.

A good book but a lot at times

I’ll be the first to say that I’m a true crime fanatic I love true crime. So that’s why I thought I’d give this book a try. It’s nothing like I imagined. It’s a GREAT book BUT extremely hard to listen to at times. It’s amazing how this woman came out on top after everything she went through. I highly recommend it but just be aware that at times I had to walk away to give myself a break from it.

Shocking and intense

I can’t imagine going through what the author went through. I hope she’s doing well today. As far as the narrator, I found her voice to be too intense at times but overall ok.

A book of pain and healing. An incredible story for this authors to share. She’s a true hero.

Shows both sides of trauma.

I admire the author for her courage to be completely transparent with her experience and trauma in order to heal and help others. She writes in a way that you feel her pain and understand her thought processes. Some parts were very detailed and hard to listen to because it breaks your heart and angers you at the same time. Once I started I couldn’t put it down, and if you stick through the hard parts, the end is very worth it.

BRAVE

Hating to enjoy a book is different for me. Lily, you are a brave inspiration to continue on with your life. Telling the whole story including the heart breaking part of your actions as a 6 year old child to the world, shows your bravery. Thank you

Heartbreaking But Hopeful

Wow, what a Rollercoaster of emotions listening to this story. I can only imagine how difficult it was to relive a insurmountable trauma while writing this book. The amount of courage and strength the author has to break the cycle of abuse and relive the story, is one to be recognized. Thank you for giving resources and sharing hope that there is healing even in the deepest of trauma. Blessings to you for the future, Lilly.

Not an easy listen

I have mixed feelings about this book. It’s fairly graphic and is definitely triggering. The author’s perspective is not one that I expected. I did wish for positive outcome foreshadowing.

If you decide to listen to this book, you should commit to finishing it so you can have closure. If nothing less, the author deserves to be heard.
