Tired of religion?

What if almost everything you were taught about Christianity is wrong?

Would you give up on faith altogether? Or is it possible to rediscover - with fresh eyes - a richer and more satisfying understanding of God and spirituality?

So You Thought You Knew is a refreshing journey written straight from the heart. It's about thinking outside the "institutional walls" of Christianity and asking the hard questions. It boldly says in public what many people are thinking in private. And its hilarious stories and life-changing insights will inspire those who are dissatisfied with fear-driven religion but believe - deep down - there's a better message out there for the world to hear.

I love this book! Joshua confronts in detail, the questions and confusion regarding the Bible and the "Church World". You see, I grew up and experienced the control and manipulation of church and Christianity. I am exhausted and yearning to be free! Thanks Joshua for your wisdom, courage, and authenticity!

A book on finding freedom from the control and manipulation of fear based religion.

What did you love best about So You Thought You Knew?

The facts presented and the knowledge behind the facts. Also, how straight forward Joshua is...

What did you like best about this story?

The knowledge that I finally found a book that I could really relate to. I have felt this same way for a long time. I was raised a Roman Catholic and have struggled since my "catechism" days when I was young. The only thing the nuns could answer to all of my questions was, "because the Bible says so". Needless to say they didn't treat me to well...Which led me to Joshua's other book...I have struggled all of my life and feel that a great deal was due to my childhood/Catholicism.

Have you listened to any of Joshua Tongol’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The two that I have bought on Audible are both amazing---

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Josh wrote down nearly everything I have either thought or experienced myself in the last 15 years. He is spot on with this book. For those that are wondering why the bile doesn’t make sense, and why the God of the Bible seems so mean and jealous this is a great book to read or listen too. He begins to touch on what and who God really is and where he is. Josh, if you haven’t written about that it’s time you do my friend. Wyatt

I really appreciate Tongol's book recommendations after each chapter, showing how he has been helped and influence by others. This is not to discount his own path, because it is clear throughout that he has continued to discover, and it seems that he himself is surprised by the persistence of revelation making its way into his life. He is simply secure enough to not take all the credit, a confidence that is in itself appealing. I'm pretty impressed that someone in his 30s could traverse so much ground, from quasi-fundamentalism to religious freedom, and not be a prisoner of bitterness while chronicling it so superbly.

Although I disagree with some of his conclusions most people out there should admit to themselves that they have had these questions as well. I have had a similar journey and still am on one in a sense though I think I understand the main path I should be on. I don't consider Joshua a heretic or a wolf in sheep's clothing. He has questions no man has answered to his understanding. I believe the hardest questions about life will be answered by the Almighty. By all means study but walk out the things you believe to be true and change if you find you are wrong. I will be praying for Joshua, his family, those who read this book and and all the rest of us, that the Creator of the universe makes Himself known to us. I personally stand with the god of Israel. YHVH Elohim and the messiah Yehoshua (Jesus). I have asked many of these questions and sought answers, some I have reconciled and some not yet. I love you all. Shalom
