Publisher's Summary

An epic adventure. Mysterious circumstances. Fun. Dark and steamy. Blending the best of adult paranormal romance and urban fantasy...you don't want to miss this series.

A violent storm. Unending night...Violet Archer is running through the darkness for her very life.

A single spark blazes, calling to her. It is her chance at salvation. It is a connection beyond any she could have ever imagined. And it leads her to a lonely cabin in the woods.

But when Violet wakes, she has no memory of how she got there. She is disturbingly ill. And a chilling evil creeps through her veins. Worse still, her host, the tall and powerful Elijah Stone, is intent on killing her. Yet a cataclysmic bond, neither can deny, stays Elijah’s hand.

Radiants, immortals of the Light, have been warring with their enemies, the Shadows, for millennia. Now, twisted together by fate, the two adversaries must embark on a journey. One on which their very lives depend. Unfortunately for Violet, she does not know who she can trust, especially when it comes to her guide, Elijah.

But it turns out that Violet and Elijah are not alone on their quest. They soon realize they are being hunted along the way. It seems Violet has a dark debt to settle.

And someone very dark, indeed, is about to collect his due.

Adult novel. Contains mature and explicit content.

I’m glad I pushed through. Adult. Romance. Magic. Good plot. Series Long enough to sink your teeth into.

I was in a book hole. And tbh, after a while you can only read so many YA novels before you begin to crave someone appropriately aged taking on the universe. Like let’s please let the 16-18 year olds just be kids! But I digress. Anyways. One reviewer urged powering through the first books to get to the others. And I’m glad I did. Here’s a non spoiler synopsis of the series. You have to power through the first book which is awful but then it’s amazing; adult aged people; smutty trash; and lots of magic and for once a not too shabby gut wrenching plot. Only catch, if you listen to it, the narrator pronounces words wrong 😑 and inconsistently. And the author does this weird and inconsistent fourth wall breaking retrospective shit that you just have to tune out and inexplicably she only does books 2-4. By book four the plot and characters have wrapped around your heart. You just have to brace through some intelligent character development along the way. I am thrilled with this genre. Adult romance. Although this author does seam afraid of anatomical language ... Adult aged people. Magic. I wish the writing would be a smudge less cheesy. But by the fourth book I could weep with these characters and scream at no one to stop their shitty choices. Clearly I was invested. I also like the that the series is long enough to sink your teeth into but not too long that you think you’re just being taken for your money.

Hang in there for the rest of the series

The first book in this series was frustrating and I really was not sure I was going to stick with it. Only the reviews on Amazon convinced me to continue reading. If you can get past the slow and bumpy start, the story is fast-paced and fun.

The narrator does a good job on most voices, but she has some issues pronouncing basic words which can be a distraction.

Drawn out “storyline”

I feel this book was stretched and played out. Not much momentum going, not much story moving past what we “know”. I had hope for this because of the reviews but it’s an okay read. Only an okay read.

Disappointing

I think this story had potential but the obvious denial of information just gets annoying after awhile and makes it feel like the plot doesn’t have much more to go off. While I really wanted to give it a chance and like it, the main character isn’t someone you really learn to care about and the rest of the characters aren’t given enough analysis, beyond their superficial good looks, to make them like able either. Look, we all love sensual and steamy books, that’s why we read this, but it needs more than that to keep me wanting to read.

It’s completely riveting!

Amnesiac wakes to a violent man yelling and dragging her into houses and through forests for quite some time before she finds out that she is in the presence of Angels. She could have been one as well if she had not gone missing. Now, she’s back and infected with darkness, the antithetical essence of their angelic order. But because she is special, fated, everyone is trying to fix her, so she and the man who found her, Eli, can fulfill some prophecy.

TM Hart uses pathos so well, I was harried the entire time I was reading. The entire book is from he me point of view, and the entire book she’s trying to catch up or understand or puzzle through something. She doesn’t find her herrings in book one. The only conflict Hart resolves is Eli’s animosity towards Violet. And I’m glad a single issue isn’t spread out over several books. I would have prefer to know the impact of that resolution would have some positive consequences. The way book one ends, the one ties end unraveled.

Honestly, the character is too affecting and the plot seems too concerned with pages for me to commit to reading the complete series, but I will definitely read the last one.

Coming back after book 4.

Some of the negative reviews are of problems that the following books are aware of and planned for. I really enjoyed the books. Worth the credit.

loved it, worth reading all the way through!

a lot of people say they struggled to finish it I think it's just because the world is very complex in your kind of not understanding what is going on sometimes but not only that the character in the book is not really made to love do you have to get to the second and third book to really understand I don't want to give away any spoilers but believe me when I tell you it is so worth it. I honestly wasn't a big fan of the narration at first only because when I listen to it on my radio it kind of hurt my ears but with my headphones it was fine but honestly she does a really good job of making all the characters come to life

reader not good

The reader has no idea how to read male personalities. I couldn't even make it threw chapter 1 with her "male" voices.
