Resumen del Editor

Violet Archer has spent her life fighting Shadows. Now, she's married to their prince. There's just one problem for the Dark lord: His new bride is plotting to kill him.

Shadows have been attacking Radiants for millennia. They creep through the streets at night and take innocent lives, feeding from a Radiant’s light. Yet Violet is out there in the dark, fighting with an elite team to eliminate the guerrilla attacks and keep her people safe. While she’s good at what she does, it isn’t enough.

So when the opportunity to do something more arises, Violet takes it. But now, she finds herself at the dark and dreary Shadow Court. She slowly realizes that nothing is as she thought.

While her mysterious host evades her, she finds herself unable to fight a supernatural pull she has to him. And the more time that passes at the Dark Manor, the more they find they need one another. After all...their lives depend on it.

Blending the best of adult paranormal romance and urban fantasy, Shadow’s Touch is a dark and steamy adventure that will leave you wanting more!

Better than Shadow’s Kiss

Shadows’s Touch is book two, but the events take place before those in book one. Both are well done, and Hart’s decision to separate the two Violet’s rather than use flashbacks is the most impactful element of the series so far.

I was meaning to skip book three, so I can get to the end. Now, I’m conflicted.

2nd book, but a prequel. Entertaining and Unique.

First, I listened to the audio version of Shadow's Touch, and the narrator does a great job. I'd recommend listening to the audio if you can. I enjoyed the performance.

Really loving the uniqueness in this story! So far, these 2 books have been an entertaining, fun read. This book is the 2nd book in the series, but is actually more of a prequel book. I'd recommend reading the first book before this one, so you can enjoy the mystery of what happened to Violet. This book tells more in depth what Violet was up to before the events of the first book. I enjoyed reading the story unfolding. I do feel kind of sad about some of the events in the 1st book after reading this one though. I also wish there was more development between Violet and the Dark Prince. I really enjoyed their connection, and it felt more genuine than the mystical connection from the first book, so it'll be interesting to see how that story unfolds. Love all the magical, dark and spooky elements to this story! The thing that didn't connect with me was that Violet got on my nerves quite a bit. She was too much of the haughty princess. Way too rude, only thinks of herself, doesn't listen, and even though she says she isn't naïve, she totally is. She also doesn't use her intelligence to her benefit. Multiple times in the book, other characters even mention how dense she is. It was a bit too much at times. Overall, I'm really looking forward to the 3rd book! I find this story engrossing!

I recommend this book... 2-24-2021

Well. I am so thankful that even though I had a full work schedule today, I was able to complete the second book in this amazing series due to it being on audiobook! The storyline is still a intriguing mystery! I can not wait to see what happens in book three!
Elizabeth Jamo, Bravo!!!

A True Slow Burn

*****Spoiler Alert*****

Violet is raised with an orphan by by the name of Zargan who she tells her mother that she will one day marry. But, he mysteriously disappears in the middle of the night (they are young children when this happens) never to be seen again.

As Violet grows up, she recieves a marriage proposal from the Dark Prince and she accepts. Her mother is in disagreement and has Violent's personal guard kidnapp her, Killian, who is also in love with her and doesn't want to let her go either. But she convinces him that she is going with the mindset of learning the Dark Prince's weaknesses and killing him.....all for her people.

She is escorted to the dark palace by Maxium who has pledged to keep her safe but isn't allowed to stay with her in the run down palace. Per the marriage instructions, the only people allowed to stay there is Violet, The Dark Prince, and the Old Croon.

Anywho, she spends days walking around the palace investigating nothing and dreaming of intimate nights with The Dark Prince. Throughout the first half of this book, she never sees anyone but the Croon who only delivers meals and may take one or two trips into town where she is almost raped. It's pretty redundant.

Finally she meets The Dark Prince who we later find out is Zargan and eventually falls in love with him. There's some stuff that happens, but I honestly don't recall what it was.

In the end, they marry, there's a fight, they have sex, and then another entity steps in and tries to steal her light but she ends up giving it to Zargan to save his life.

While Zargan is knocked out, a flicker of light comes to life inside of Violet and it leads her to Elijah's cabin.

All and all, it's a good listen but I did get a little bored with the repetitive chapters. I found myself fast forwarding here and there, but it was still a good listen.
