Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Chase Berrymore dreams of adventure, excitement, and getting the heck out of her pastoral halven village. But when adventure finds her, she'll be scrambling to save her family and friends from a necromancer's wrath. Outmatched in almost every way, she'll have to use her wits, charisma, and a bit of divine favor to figure out the path to victory. Even worse, she'll have to figure out ways to deal with the weird and nigh-immortal beings that call themselves "playas"...and she'll have to do it with the most powerful weapon she has available: words.

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. A world on the precipice of the apocalypse. A secret forged in the flames of war. A chance to start over. For John Sutton, only one of those three things matters. Only the Keepers - storytellers, historians, and magic-wielders - are left to stand against them. Alaric, who betrayed everything he believed to save his wife - and still failed. Publisher's Summary
Threadbare has not had a very good time of it recently. His little girl has been taken from him, and he must travel the kingdom, finding allies old and new, living and dead, to help him rescue Celia.
Fortunately, he's got a voice now and access to all those fun skills he couldn't before use. He may only be a very small teddy bear, but he's got the persistence to plow through dungeons of rascally raccoon monsters, the wiles to turn a town full of undead on its ear, and the sanity to survive an encounter with a mediocre old one.
However, Threadbare's little girl is growing up now, and her own path is hard and brutal. Will she even have a use for her old teddy bear when they meet again? Will they both survive the encounter?
Warning: Contains profanity, violence, and a creepy villain who likes tentacles way too much.

Another fantastic entry to the series!
This book series really has come into it's own with this book. The world opens up to the teddy bear known as Threadbare as he made himself a mouth in order to speak and use his jobs. The writing was very fluid, never felt halting or odd, and every once in a while there are references thrown in that have gotten a groan of laughter more than once. I cannot wait for the continuation of this series!

A step down from book 1, but ok
I felt this book took a step down from the first book. Part of this feeling comes from the realization that the novelty has worn off. Its still funny here and there. It still has some intrigue with the king, the demon, the daughter, and the bear, but leveling up and new skills became old....which is honestly my main complaint with many books in the genre. I understand this is litRPG, but I don't need to get hammered with stats(...and in this case, all stats the character has) every 10mins. Once every 2 hours would be nice....or when something significant happens....otherwise, it just feels like a 10 year old trying to fill out a 10-page essay for homework.
Can I recommend? If you like the first, this is ok and continues the story...so ok, I can recommend.

Dark and terrible end
For a book that started up beat and fun in book 1, book 2 takes a hard right turn into the abyss. No real hero work, just always getting his ass kicked. Then you have alll this god damn build up and the author knifes you in the back and twists. When a author does stupid crap like this, there is ZERO point to get invested into ANY characters no matter what, because they will do something like they did for the shock factor!

Read Small Medium first, tho this is great
I know it sounds weird, but I highly recommend reading the Small Medium trilogy first - I did it by accident, and because of it, I came into this trilogy feeling way more invested in the characters and the land.
This book is great, a worthy successor to Stuff and Nonsense. I love what Threadbear has become and what he grows into over this book; I love all the good guys, and I even love the bad guys in their own way. This book contains the sort of cleverness we have come to expect from this author, and I can't recommend it enough.
I'll probably end up saying this a lot, but I love the reader - he's very talented and invested, good at doing lots of distinctive, consistent voices and accents (tho I feel like Madeline is written Australian and he goes for something else) and I can't get enough of his game-announcements voice. So much better than just reading it, even if the repetitive level-ups occasionally get a bit tedious.

Great Second Book
Continues on just where the first book left off and remains amazing the whole way through. All of the characters were able to hold my attention and leave me wanting more of their exciting adventures and group dynamic. Loved all the creative thought and fun that was put into the skills of the characters and the different settings. Can’t wait for the next book.

Nothing like the love a bear for his little girl
When my husband listened to a couple of chapters of this book he described it as “the R rated version of Winnie the Pooh” SO right!! What an adventure!!
I was a little skeptical when considering purchase of the second book in this trilogy as I am unfamiliar with the author; so many books cannot keep up the momentum of their stories after success of the first one. I have NOT been disappointed!
The authors thorough character development And the phenomenal voice portrayals of each by the Narrator make for a prime Audio experience !! I don’t know how easy this book would have been to Read, but the audio version is Top Notch!
In book 2 we find ThreadBare (shouldn’t it be BEAR???) still trapped in the basement of his former home, and FIVE YEARS have passed!! But true to form his love for his little girl Celia hasn’t waned ONE IOTA.
His quest begins once he has finally freed himself, but he knows he will need help if he is to find her. As he looks for his friends - Mrs Fluff-Bear, and his (bob)cat Pulsivar, and meets up with some old and new traveling companions he traverses the land in search of Celia; adventuring, and battling (and leveling up) along the way.
I love the (sailor-worthy) banter amongst the traveling companions; hilarious coming from Toys, let alone “Kids” as they are apparently being portrayed when going thru each interaction, new Skill leveled, or Job achieved.
This story is heart warming and exciting through and through. It reminds us of the true meaning of friendship.
We all need to be reminded sometimes.

Kind of went off the rails
The only thing that makes this series special is that main character is a teddy bear. But that doesn't mean anything if the author doesn't actually use the juxtaposition of the cute and fuzzy bear with all his enormous power.
Instead we have a world where it's not all that odd for a teddy bear to have powers, and plenty of small, seemingly harmless things can be lethal, to the surprise of no one in that world.
The author would have done better to keep the teddy bear as a unique oddity in a world full of full-grown men and beasts. That's where the heart of the story was, and the source of all the humor and intrigue. He didn't know what he had. Oh well.

Pleasantly surprised, better than the first book
Man, does this story go places I did not expect, in a good way.
It keeps the pressure on, the dark feel of the world keeps up.
The naivete of the characters (and the reader with them) is just relentlessly stripped away.
The YA feel of the first book is just melted away in this book.

Story
Meet Threadbare. He is 12 inches tall, full of fluff, and really, really bad at being a hero. Magically animated and discarded by his maker as a failed experiment, he is saved by a little girl. But she's got problems of her own, and he might not be able to help her. Fortunately for the little golem, he's quick to find allies, learn skills, gain levels, and survive horrible predicaments. Which is good, because his creator has a whole lot of enemies …
