Publisher's Summary

Threadbare has not had a very good time of it recently. His little girl has been taken from him, and he must travel the kingdom, finding allies old and new, living and dead, to help him rescue Celia.

Fortunately, he's got a voice now and access to all those fun skills he couldn't before use. He may only be a very small teddy bear, but he's got the persistence to plow through dungeons of rascally raccoon monsters, the wiles to turn a town full of undead on its ear, and the sanity to survive an encounter with a mediocre old one.

However, Threadbare's little girl is growing up now, and her own path is hard and brutal. Will she even have a use for her old teddy bear when they meet again? Will they both survive the encounter?

Warning: Contains profanity, violence, and a creepy villain who likes tentacles way too much.

Another fantastic entry to the series!

This book series really has come into it's own with this book. The world opens up to the teddy bear known as Threadbare as he made himself a mouth in order to speak and use his jobs. The writing was very fluid, never felt halting or odd, and every once in a while there are references thrown in that have gotten a groan of laughter more than once. I cannot wait for the continuation of this series!

got a lot darker in this one and maybe weirder

the move from a some what whimsical fantasy to a darker adventure fantasy is in full effect. still fun but there's a definite tonal shift.

Great Second Book

Continues on just where the first book left off and remains amazing the whole way through. All of the characters were able to hold my attention and leave me wanting more of their exciting adventures and group dynamic. Loved all the creative thought and fun that was put into the skills of the characters and the different settings. Can’t wait for the next book.

A step down from book 1, but ok

I felt this book took a step down from the first book. Part of this feeling comes from the realization that the novelty has worn off. Its still funny here and there. It still has some intrigue with the king, the demon, the daughter, and the bear, but leveling up and new skills became old....which is honestly my main complaint with many books in the genre. I understand this is litRPG, but I don't need to get hammered with stats(...and in this case, all stats the character has) every 10mins. Once every 2 hours would be nice....or when something significant happens....otherwise, it just feels like a 10 year old trying to fill out a 10-page essay for homework.

Can I recommend? If you like the first, this is ok and continues the story...so ok, I can recommend.

One of the BEST

stories ever written in any genre. I think anyone would enjoy this story even if you aren't a gamer! There's friendship, love, war and magic! TGR makes it even better. May the Treadbare Universe become the new DISCWORLD!!

Another fun listen

Our hero Threadbare is back again after spending quite a while getting himself out from under the house that collapsed on him at the end of the previous story. I liked the plot better in this book than the previous one, there were more complex elements and more interesting character interactions and we got more backstory explaining in part why things, in the kingdom anyway, are the way they are.
I dinged the story a star because there were a lot of puns & pop-culture references that just seemed kind of jarring and took me out of the story (references to "11 herbs and spice", ROUS's, et al), because there was a scene at the end involving daemons and souls and an encounter that didn't make sense the way they explained it, and also because in an audio-book format listening to someone just read pages of status screens is a second-cousin to fingernails on a blackboard. I don't know that there's any good fix to this but it grates on the ears.

Love me some Threadbare and friends

Great protagonist, nice twists, fun pop culture references, great narrator... just great all around. Recommended if you like your fantasy with a nice dose of humor.

I really enjoy the characters and the sometimes subtle pop culture references. Very creative story telling. Great narration!

GOOD BOOK

I have over 300 audible titles and I have to say that the narration and performance of this book is one of the best I've heard. It's a compelling universe with a great story and awesome characters
