Strange.

The performance was the best part. The story was strange. I definitely didn't see the end coming though.

Idunno about this one

The story isn’t bad and the narration was great… but. There is just no rhyme or reason to the guys entire confession/sin philosophy, doctrine, whatever the hell it is. I swear it was like overhearing all the conversations but with no context no behind the scenes reader insight. I’m honestly tempted to get the next book purely in hopes of stuff actually making sense! Also the fmc omg! That woman is seriously unhinged in a “nah nah nah not listening” way to sure of herself way. How is she jumping to these conclusions?! What on earth makes her so sure? The reasoning and logic jumps she makes are just random… that combined with her pigheadedness made her really annoying to me. Also(back to the weird sin doctrine) the fact no one points out how weird it is these guys just get to fuck the chicks, for their own good, seemed like a blaring elephant. Having pointed out the weird misogynistic sex punishments- there is a serious lack of filthy smut!!! Really a lack of any smut! If you’re going to have huge plot holes they better be just stuffed full of depraved sexy smut….damn it! Idunno I do love the author but maybe skip this one till you have an extra credit or lack any better options.

the story was a bit disappointing

The story is not clear. The reasoning for the House of Sin is not what you would expect. I kept waiting for that one redeeming quality and have yet to find it. I love morally grey mmc. But I see no grey here. I see a man in all black. Sexual attraction does not make a relationship. I feel he is repeating history and recreating his own worst memory. I really hope that he fixes all that. it is for that reason only that I will continue to the next story. Spice was maybe a 3. Slow burn was a bit to slow for my taste. But I love the heat.
I however would like to say that I love this author. I am well on my way to owning all of her books. Just because one book has not pulled me into a fantasy of dark debauchery the way I have come to expect, does not mean that I will not continue to have faith in Clarissa Wild.

Underwhelming

So I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of the Spineridge books (which were my intro to this author) but the comparative (and nearly COMPLETE) lack of spice was not only surprising but disappointing. The FMC has zero sense of self-preservation and would've ended up dead immediately in any kind of real life danger situation, which ends up making for a frustrating read to me. I doubt I'll be continuing with these=P

Boring…

After reading the blurb and seeing the narrators I was excited to listen to this; however, less than an hour or so in I was immediately regretted my decision. The narrators did the best they could given the material that was provided. The story just couldn’t keep my attention at all. It was boring, scattered, and both lead characters had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I wanted to DNF but I stuck through and regret it. It didn’t get any better only for a slight pick up around 90% in. I have no desire to continue the duet.
