The seventh book in this action-packed, wildly original fantasy series by New York Times best-selling author Jasmine Walt.

Home from their travels at last, Sunaya and Iannis are confronted with a threat against which even their strongest magic is largely helpless. The very ground under their city is becoming increasingly unstable, and there are disturbing predictions of an impending quake the likes of which Solantha hasn't seen in centuries.

While their hands are full preparing for disaster, Iannis's most dangerous rival returns to Solantha, intent on finding anything he can use against Iannis. It isn't long before Fenris, too, is in his crosshairs, his dangerous secret perilously close to being exposed. Sunaya is fiercely determined to protect both her friend and the man she loves, but will her efforts be enough? With old and new enemies as well as the might of nature ranged against her, one false step or indiscreet word can spell doom for all three of them...

I have enjoyed every book in this series including this one. I hope this isn't the end of Sunaya's story.

I love this series and i should point out that this is the 7th book in the series. Don't start with this book or else nothing will make sense. I should also mention that all books thus far have been narrated by Laurel Schroeder. I love her narration of this and she does a wonderful job bring all the characters to life.

Now about the book.... Naya is back home and settling in to her role as Yaanis' bride to be. Of course, nothing is ever calm for long. Soon the gang discovers the benefactor is free and gunning for them. In addition, someone important is in town and hell bent on unveiling Fenris' secret. There is tons of action in this book but it is a little less than what we are used to when it comes to Naya. In prior books, trouble seemed to follow her everywhere but not so much in this one. The book centers mostly on trying to protect Fenris and also on Naya coming to terms with the fact that she is changing and learning to accept both parts of herself. There was a moment I felt my heart break when something major happened to a major character (don't want to spoil it) but subsequent events let me accept why the story worked out as it did....After all that happened in this book, I wonder where else the author will take us. Is this to be the last book? Please say it isn't so....!! However, if it is, please let there be a spin-off coming soon.. Naya's best friend has a little side-kick who seems to be kick a** and I want to know more :)

As always I was happy and enjoyed this book... looking forward to more!

Great series and you only have to use 3 credits because you can get books 1-3 as one set & books 4-6 in one but then you must buy book 7 because it ties it all up for you!

I have to say that this book has a really cool race system and plot. Also, I had some seriously laugh out loud moments that had people staring at me like I'm mad. I don't typically write reviews for audibles but damn I really hate that I'm done with this series. I loved it! (Side note, the narrator could have slowed down her apeech a bit. There are times that its frustrating to listen to because she's too fast).
