All it takes is eight seconds for your world to come crashing to a halt.

What happens when you're injured and stuck with the one man who makes your blood heat in a way you've never experienced before?

I've been on a path to redemption. Kayce Wilder, former screw-up. The bareback bronc rider with big dreams. I had it all figured out.

Only, I didn't count on a ride gone wrong to leave me with no other option than to ask for his help. Zeke Rainer. Raine. The gruff cowboy covered in tattoos, surrounded by mysteries.

We've been at odds forever. Rivals in the arena. Two rodeo riders in pursuit of the same buckle… before he left me behind, without warning.

My stepbrother.

When urgent help is needed to run the ranch, he's the last person I want to be relying on for a favor. As the fall nights lengthen, tension and angst thicken the more time we spend alone together.

I shouldn't be noticing so many small details—especially not how strong his hands look while working with the horses—and certainly shouldn't be wondering if he thinks about me as much as I think about him.

I've never been attracted to a man before.

It would be insanity to be drawn to him. Wouldn't it?

I really loved this story. For some reason I wanted find a mm cowboy romance, and man does this deliver. Kayce and Raine have the grittiest, hottest, healing romance. Kayce is broken and Raine is isolated, they’re estranged stepbrothers, but are drawn to each other after running into each other at an event. When it goes down…it goes down and 🤭🔥🔥🔥. Cowboy/stepbrothet trope? Why aren’t there more of these!?!?

Teddy as Kayce is perfect, and Dane is perfect as Raine. Someone’s review mentioned there are a few times when Dane’s “Kayce” voice sounds like Smegal from LOTR, and I totally caught it. It only happens a very few times very quickly, but it does disturb the flow and vibe. I giggled and moved on.

100% worth the credit!

What a story…Raine is DADDY

This was prob the best love story I have read/listened to this year, maybe even ever. The narrators made the story come alive and they did an amazing job! Teddy Hamilton can do no wrong. I loved Kayces story, It was so emotional and touching. I rated this book all the ⭐️s.

The most touching love story

I'll be honest, I didn't love this series. I started it when she dropped the audio teaser for this book. I read the series for the snippets of Kayce. I knew his story would be goof because we had a relationship with him and I knew there was more to his story. Sweet beautiful broken boy. I loved him. Didn't hurt that Teddy gave him a voice.

I didn't love the other narrator, but really only because of the voice he used for Kayce, but overall it was still awesome. Rain was brooding and hard and the Narration for him fit his mood.

The small amount we got of Colt and Kayce made me sob. I related to it so much and healing in a way. I may never get that apology and action, but hearing a story of someone who does really hit me in the feels. It was sweet and beautiful. Then top it off with Layla hugging them in the hospital. I was done for.

one thing I would like to say though, I really wish the Taboo parts of these books weren't repeated over and over and over and over. I notice Rose does this. It feels like it is mentioned in every few sentences and I dont think its necessary.

Still a phenomenal writer, and she did a wonderful job here.

Kayce!!!

Good story but the gruffer narrator should probably stick to duet style narratives where he doesn’t need to do other voices. When he was voicing any other voice than Rain, it was terrible.

Pretty good, narration left me wanting more

Teddy Hamilton & Dane Anderson were perfectly cast as Kayce & Raine respectively. Teddy captured Kayce’s vulnerability and sweetness while Dane’s delicious baritone was exactly right for the gruff and grumpy Raine. They truly brought these cowboys to life.
Elliot Rose has written another banger of a story. Saving the Rain begins with rodeo hot shot Kacey Wilder (who was first introduced to the series in Chasing the Wild) realizing that he might be gay after kissing another man. As he is trying to come to terms with this recent revelation he discovers that his step brother, Raine, who he hasn’t seen in years is working a neighboring ranch in Crimson Ridge. Their complicated and contentious relationship is compounded when Kayce is the injured and he has to rely on Raine as he recovers.
Their relationship gets even more difficult when they both start to acknowledge their growing attraction to one another.
There’s a lot of messy history that has to be unpacked and Kayce has to navigate coming out to his family and friends as well worrying that people will disapprove of he and Raine being together because they are step brothers.
The story has a healthy dose of angst, a lot of healing from past trauma and abuse, and some REALLY hot moments but the ending is happy for our cowboys.
Grab your headphones and make sure you hydrate because this one will have you tearing up & sweating in equal measures.

Perfect casting for a great story

From start to finish I was in love with these characters, the raw vulnerability you get from them warmed my heart.

You have to listen to the audiobook!! Teddy & Dane are utter perfection! They are the perfect duo. The plot, spice and writing in this book was already so good. But the voice actors made this elite!! I listened to this in one day. Im obsessed with Kayce and Raine. Idk how you pick a favorite couple in this series but if I had to they might be it!! You have to read the extended epilogue!! Trust me!! Im so saad this series is over.

Best duo ever

⭐️ Story: 5/5
🔥 Spice: 3.5/5
🎧 Narration: 4.5/5

I loved every second of this book. My only gripe? I wish the author had sprinkled in more reasoning for why Rain treated Case like crap for so long. It felt like we jumped straight from Rain hating him to suddenly wanting him. A little more internal conflict—Rain wrestling with his feelings earlier—would’ve made the relationship feel more fleshed out. That really only kicks in after they start their relationship, so it felt a little left-field at first.

Narration: Teddy and Dane did an amazing job bringing the story to life. The only minor annoyance was Dane’s drawn-out whispery delivery. I bumped his parts to 1.5x speed, and it was much better. Still, overall, a great performance.

Loved but could’ve been even better

I really loved the beginning of this! The way Kayce and Raine had this underlying tension you knew came from something not being shared yet. As their past is revealed each of these men gain a little depth to their character. Kayce is still a lost, confused kid in so many ways who needs some serious work on himself! Raine is growly and protective and just can’t help himself when Kayce ask him to just make his head stop spinning. Lots of things I loved but the end went way to off the rails for me. By 91% I want my epilogue not another unnecessary dramatic event. I honestly skimmed over chapters 47 and 48 because it was too melodramatic.

The narrators did a great job bringing these two to life! I listened at 2.5 speed because Dane’s voice doesn’t work for me otherwise but still good!

Found family fun
