For my naughty listeners, this book is a medium burn that’s worth the wait…and you better be ready, because once they get started, things really get spicy! Journee's vampire mate falls in love with her the moment he meets her and will do anything to protect what is his.

Save a Life, Tell a Lie (Save Series Book 1 ~~ This book pulled me in fast and did not let go. I read most of it on Kindle, but when I needed to keep moving ~ driving, cleaning, or just needing my mind occupied ~ I switched to Audible. Honestly, both formats worked beautifully together. Reading and listening like this helps keep me sane when I’m not teaching, and this story absolutely did the trick.

From the start, the premise is intense: secrets, survival, and lies told for reasons that feel justified… until they don’t. The main character is forced into impossible choices, and I loved that nothing was black-and-white. Every decision had weight, and you could feel the emotional pressure building chapter by chapter. Saving someone comes at a cost, and that cost never disappears.

There’s danger, tension, and just enough emotional depth to make you stop and think ~ what would I have done? The relationships are complicated, the trust issues feel earned, and the twists hit at just the right moments. I found myself frustrated in a good way ~ the kind where you’re yelling at the character but also understand why they did it.

The narration on Audible added an extra layer of intensity, especially during the more emotional and high-stakes scenes. It made the fear, guilt, and determination feel very real, while the Kindle version let me slow down and really absorb certain moments.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.

I found this author because of another book that was narrated by two of my favorites. TBR: dead but well read was full of good laughs. So I’m taking a chance on this series so far it hasn’t disappointed. Worth the listen.

This is hottt, funny and so gripping! Super suspenseful and great story line. I’m a huge fan of Sedona’s way of building new and different shifter worlds and dynamics. I cannot wait to start the next book!!
