Publisher's summary

Sandstorm: Publisher's Pack contains books one and two of the Sandstorm series.

Sandstorm, book one:

Something is hunting the inhabitants of Ravar.

For three generations, the colonists on Ravar have been stranded on a harsh planet, forced to survive in a desert environment where only the scrappiest animals and the heartiest plants survive. Most live without the foolish hope that Earth's supply ships will ever grace the skies again. Trapped in a sandstorm, Neena Xylance struggles to make her way back to her colony. What she doesn't know is that she isn't alone, and what she finds might destroy the last of the fragile life on her planet.

Windswept, book two:

A colony of secrets and lies …

Forced into a Red Rock jail, Neena and Kai fight for their freedom and their lives, while Darius puts together the pieces of a terrifying discovery. Will they find out the truth before it's too late? Or is the colony's fate sealed?

Great Dystopian Series!

T.W. Piperbrook does it again! Another great Dystopian Series. I absolutely loved The Last Survivors series and The Ruins series. Sandstorm is starting out great and I truly think this will be his best work yet! At least that I've listened to so far lol. Scott Brick narrates and does a fantastic job as always! Can't wait for the rest of this series!

Great world-building and excellent twists

As expected, Scott Brick does a great job pulling you in to the author's world and bringing the characters to life. The premise around this book revolves around life on post-apocalyptic planet, and a horrible menace that threatens the colonists. The main character Neena and her family are likeable and relatable, so that you can almost picture yourself in the barren desert alongside them.

T.W. Piperbrook does a great job at setting the stage in these first two books. Getting them in a publisher's pack is a bonus. I'll definitely be picking up the next in series.

Loved the Audible copy so much more!

I received a free copy of this pack in return for an unbiased review. I've also read the books so I knew what I was going into & what happened. I actually loved the audible copy better than the written words (sorry Tyler). Scott Brick's narration is fantastic & even though as I said, I've read them, I enjoyed them so much more with his narration. In my head I imagined the characters speaking a certain way but Scott Brick really made me enjoy the dialogue more & really brought the words to life, he actually made me like & dislike characters I know more & thus boosted the stories. I can't wait for the rest of them to be narrated now, I'm very excited. Highly recommended.

Really, really good

Early on, I was perturbed by a certain detail in the story that might be considered a rip off/homage to Dune, but quickly stopped nitpicking as I got caught up in the story.
Once it was finished, I was disappointed that Audible doesn't offer the rest of the series, even for credits.
I liked it enough that I immediately bought the entire series as eBooks from Barnes and Noble!
Audible missed out on some cash.

Good Sci-Fi

Story is captivating and narration is excellent. The next series should be equally as entertaining.

Whaaaaat!?

Great cliffhanger. Engaging characters, appropriately flawed. Good plot movement. Didn't make me have to remember a bunch of new words or names for the setting - much appreciated. I am looking forward to book 3.

Absolutely brilliant!

Fantastic story, can't wait to buy the rest of the series! A new author to me but having looked I have plenty to read during the winter months 😀
The icing on the cake was, of course, the wonderful narrator Scott Brick who led me to this story. Heaven!

What could possibly happen in a desert planet?

Very reminiscent of Dune by Frank Herbert, but in a different way. I enjoyed the audio book and will be seeking out more of this series.

Generally awful.

The spoken performance is fine.

The writing is full of cliches and tautologies. Lots of very convenient coincidences drive the plot. The world lacks any sort of logic or world building verisimilitude. I wanted to give it a chance but it's just not good.
