    Frances Mei Hardin, MD is a full-time otolaryngologist, creator of the brand Rethinking Residency, and host of the podcast Promising Young Surgeon. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame at 20 years old with a degree in biochemistry with honors, completed her medical school education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine as a member of AOA, and graduated from a 5-year ENT residency in the Midwest. In addition to her ENT practice at a rural community hospital, she is passionate about resident and physician well-being and mental health. She is a proud member of the physician-writer tradition and advocate for a change in the culture of medical training.

Following residency, Christine accepted a position as an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at MMC and was honored to be selected as a 2009 American College of Emergency Physicians National Teacher of the Year. Christine is married, has four daughters and one son who add the spice to her life, and spends many hours pursuing her passion of distance running. She has completed more than 60 marathons and half-marathons and is on a crazy quest to see how many consecutive days she can run without interruption.
