"This captivating production will leave listeners wanting more" —AudioFile on Divine Rivals

The epic conclusion to the intensely romantic and beautifully written story that started in Divine Rivals.

Two weeks have passed since Iris Winnow returned home bruised and heartbroken from the front, but the war is far from over. Roman is missing, and the city of Oath continues to dwell in a state of disbelief and ignorance. When Iris and Attie are given another chance to report on Dacre’s movements, they both take the opportunity and head westward once more despite the danger, knowing it’s only a matter of time before the conflict reaches a city that’s unprepared and fracturing beneath the chancellor’s reign.

Since waking below in Dacre’s realm, Roman cannot remember his past. But given the reassurance that his memories will return in time, Roman begins to write articles for Dacre, uncertain of his place in the greater scheme of the war. When a strange letter arrives by wardrobe door, Roman is first suspicious, then intrigued. As he strikes up a correspondence with his mysterious pen pal, Roman will soon have to make a decision: to stand with Dacre or betray the god who healed him. And as the days grow darker, inevitably drawing Roman and Iris closer together…the two of them will risk their very hearts and futures to change the tides of the war.

The narrators really made this story come alive for the listener. Their voices are almost lyrical, and the writing makes it even more so. Such a beautiful ending to the story.

This book is full of rediscovered love. Found family. Heartache. And more beautiful and lyrical words. I will forever love this story and what Iris and Roman brought to the world. And the narrators do a fantastic job of bringing Roman and iris to life and their words strike home. So happy I listened to this audiobook.

Will never emotionally recover from this duology

Wonderful. It was a slow start but once it took off I couldn’t stop listening.

Male narrator sounds similar to Daniel Radcliffe

When I first started this series I went into it with an Ehhh attitude. I was on the wait-list on Libby for the audiobook and it became available so I figured wth. I was pleasantly surprised. I was sucked in and when I finished the audiobook in a day and a half, I actually purchased RV on audible bc it had a 14 week wait on Libby. I truly enjoyed the second book. It tied in the whole gods storey line much more than the first book (where that aspect was barely touched on and left me kind of confused). There were def. Some parts that irritated me.

<SPOILER> I would have been alot more upset and concerned throughout the book for my husband. And I don't think I could have just returned home and went right back to work after losing him in the field. Little things throughout also got to me (like her new haircut in the middle of the crap hitting the fan. Who cares how her hair looks!) Ending was bittersweet but was a good closer - yet it was left open enough that RR could def. add another book. All in all, a good read!

Really Surpriswd by this series
