Critic Reviews

“The results we get are largely determined by the systems in our lives. The wrong system makes results harder to get. The right system makes it easier, almost effortless, to achieve the right results. This is brilliantly illustrated in Carey Nieuwhof’s new book, At Your Best.” (Greg McKeown, New York Times best-selling author of Effortless and Essentialism and the host of the What’s Essential podcast)

“Carey Nieuwhof offers a powerful recipe for thriving: Do what you do best, at the times when you’re at your best, while making sure other people’s priorities don’t get in the way. An important guide for anyone feeling burned out by their ‘successful’ career.” (Cal Newport, New York Times best-selling author of A World Without Email and Deep Work)

“Clear, concise, and highly practical, the strategies Carey Nieuwhof outlines will help you accomplish far more in far less time at work and at home.” (Nir Eyal, best-selling author of Indistractable)

So helpful.

I started implementing this book before it was even over, and started seeing and feeling the benefits on day one. One of the most practical, actually helpful, leadership and productivity books I've ever read.

He's lived my life!

The story of burnout was my story. I wish I would have had this book years ago. If you are in your 20's or 30's, be sure to pay attention. The lifestyle you think you love can be your greatest enemy. Carey explains this perfectly and gives you the tools to change.

Every leader in their 30s needs this

After being an entrepreneur and parent of young kids during a pandemic, this couldn’t be more timely. Thank you for the honesty and transparency.

The book you’ve been looking for-

As a business owner, husband, and dad, not to mention volunteer, friend, and manager( the list goes on and on!); I have constantly been in the search for the right balance of productivity, building relationships, leading etc. If you are like me- you absolutely have experienced some form of the burnout that Carey Nieuwhof very clearly describes in his book. After listening and starting to put into practice, I have slowly started to regain my sanity, enjoy my work, and really be able to focus on the relationships and priorities that matter. This is not gimmicky, nor does it require a huge investment of time, money, or effort. Finally a resource that teaches you to truly be “ At Your Best!” I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring. Listen to this book- it will give you the freedom you’ve been looking for.

The most applicable self development book. Period.

Carey has summarized what seem to be all self development books into one.

Better yet, Carey has taken those ideas discussed by other authors and has made them into actionable tasks and a way to live and think about life.

I will re-read this book regularly which I never do, to avoid ‘burnout’ and live the best life and be the best me.

Truly AT MY BEST, Thank You Carey Nieuwhof!

Excellent! A game-changer

This book is the single most helpful thing I have read on leadership! along with some of caries other work, it transformed my outlook on leadership in ministry and on life in general. This book is a game changer. I'm recovering from mid level burnout. I was fearing worse and not sure what to do, but this book has the answers. I will be following through on the thrive cycle and putting it into practice with those I lead.

Very helpful

Great strategies to improve focus and drive completion of priorities. Most read for all who may have a lot to accomplish and need help on filtering out the noise.
