Publisher's summary

A power to gain. Prices too high to pay. No one cheats death forever.

Digby finally has everything he wants: the heist went off without a hitch, the shards of the Heretic Seed are in his possession, and Autem is in disarray. All he has to do is unlock the power he’s stolen. But it seems that restoring the Seed to its former glory is easier said than done. Something has gone wrong, and it’s up to Digby to fix it, whether he wants to or not.

Trapped within a twisted realm of memories, he’s forced to compete against the souls of past Heretics in a game of death with his existence on the line. To escape, he will have to play nice with the few allies he can find, then make his way to the finish line all while uncovering a conflict that has been hidden throughout the centuries. To make matters worse, until he can find a way home, everyone back in Vegas will need to step up to fill the void left by his absence.

When the dust settles, he may find that the power he seeks will cost him more than he bargained for.

Gripping for more

This was a twist staircase of a continuation that had me enthralled all the way through to the end. That being said I am now staring for a timer to appear on another book. So many gripping routes by the end right after ripping at your heart strings. The whole book shows tie ins through time itself up to its conclusion which if you have been as invested as me will have your heart screaming.

Honestly great atudd

I loved this title. I couldn't put it down it was so good. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys zombie or magic books. The book and the characters grow as you read the book. it's stunning how much detail and how great the voice actor is.

Lots of emotional interludes and ...

A main character dies. Digby gets sidetracked and is joined, with all people Parker, the blue-haired, non-serious soldier. All the while, Rebeca is left with leading the human horde in Las Vegas during Dig's absence. A duty she's reluctant to take on. There are sub-plot arcs that reminds me a lot of Fallout: New Vegas. There's lots of intrigue, personal character growth and some very poignant scenes.

I gave it 5by5 stars because it was that good; however, I was disappointed that it left the disposition of the book's antagonist undetermined.

ehhhhh

least favorite of the first 4 books right now. Found myself skipping forward a lot. This book, while important, just feels like a filler episode. I dont want to give anything away but what I do want to say is, don't be afraid to skip ahead or fast forward. the next book should be much more exciting

A good series Indeed!!

the 4th book in this series is certainly a different pace from the other 3, but overall, it was still enjoyable. I can't wait for the rest to come out on audible. Once again, Travis baldree's performance is a winner. I really look forward to seeing the ending to this series and what will become of Digby by the end of it all.

Huge Fan

I stumbled across David Petrie and The Necrotic Apocalypse by pure luck and I couldn’t be happier about it. I’m brand new to this genre and he hooked me in instantly! Listened to all 4 books back to back and can’t wait for book 5! Well done!
