Greyson Ratcliffe. I met him at 16, the hot new guy sitting on my jetty, an aspiring artist just passing through. He was my first kiss and my first love. I wanted forever with him. I didn't even get a year. Five years later, I'm a budding writer who scripts stories of love and struggle, the good and the bad and the ups and the downs. He's a star on the rise - his wicked talent and crazy good looks have his face plastered on countless magazines. We move in two different worlds and still our paths cross again. We're older and wiser and as crazy about each other as we were as teenagers.
I'm a reporter, and I've got the best assignment in the world - get dirt on the hottest country star on the charts, Keith Perkins. The sexy beast who rocks those tight jeans like nobody's business. I'm supposed to learn all of his Dirty Laundry, his deepest and darkest secrets. Without sleeping with him. Easy enough, right? Wrong. I mean, just looking at him makes me wonder what those big, rough hands could do to me. With a voice that's one part velvet and one part growl, it's hard for me to sass him when he melts me into a puddle with a single look.
As Tampa Bay's star center, Mark Carmelo's life was hockey, and after a bitter and public break up, all he wanted to do was focus on the game. Until he saw her - the one that got away, the one he thought he'd never see again. For 13 years, Stevie West drowned in her lackluster life. Recently divorced from her “roommate” with passionless benefits, she was ready to start over on her own. Until she ran into him. The same man she'd met one year ago. The temptation that had finally given her the courage to find herself again.
Life hasn't been easy for Charlie. Her mother was a monster. And when Charlie left home, there wasn't always a warm bed, food, or a hot shower. She figured out how to get by on her looks. When her mother dies and she comes home to put that part of her life behind her, she finds the diary. It fills her with rage. She's out for revenge. But along the way she meets him. It wasn't supposed to be like this.... I wasn't supposed to be boyfriendless, homeless, and jobless at 28. And I most definitely wasn't supposed to hit Hollywood's resident bad boy Gabriel Evans with my car and break his foot. Now I'm stuck in his apartment, taking care of him while he's incapacitated. Living with the hottest guy in Hollywood, who I've had a crush on forever, doesn't sound like a chore, right? Wrong. Gabriel Evans is rude and crude and drinks way too much, and as soon as his foot is healed I'm out of here. So why do I keep forgetting to check the classifieds?

They believed humans were weak - until her. The aliens ruling over the galaxy knew humans were compatible with their species, but they never expected to find a match quite so perfect for their Emperor. Lena should have been nothing more than an incubator - she was supposed to have the Emperor's child, and then get back to her life. But then, they made the mistake of threatening that child...
Have my baby. That was what my single-dad best friend, Seth, said to me while I was waitressing at the diner. His little girl wants a sibling. But Seth is a workaholic millionaire and doesn't have time to meet someone. Someone who won't screw him over, like his kid's mother. Only problem is this someone has secretly been in love with him since high school. I've been hiding it forever, not wanting to risk our friendship.
An Irish mobster. A missing friend. Two loyalties, ripping me apart. I had a plan. Get in, get my information, and get out. Easy, right? Turns out, infiltrating the Irish mafia isn't exactly what I thought it would be. I just wanted a soldier. Someone I could flirt with to get me in the door. That's when Lachlan Crow noticed me. Problem was, he wasn't a soldier. No, he was next in line for the throne of the Irish underworld. And he was determined to hate me from the outset.
I'll be the first to admit that I live at extremes. After going 10 years locked in what felt like a dysfunctional marriage, I'm now decidedly boy-free. In nearly three years I've had no boyfriends, no flings, no dates, and no sex. For the sake of my dream career, the sacrifice has been easy. At least it was. Until he came along. Lukas Hendricks. He's rude, gorgeous, arrogant - a stone-carved wall of muscle and distraction. He's everything I know to avoid but there's no avoiding your next-door neighbor.
Meet the men of the rock band, Trained in Black. "Our someday will come soon, Joslyn." Those words were the last words I heard from Roman Nixon before I walked away. I knew our someday might come, but not the one he and I had always dreamed about. His life headed in one direction, mine in the other. While Roman became the lead singer for the successful rock band Trained in Black, I became a ruthless attorney. He moved on and married someone else. As I was forced to observe him and his bride on the cover of every magazine out there, I deserved to suffer because of what I had done.
The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I'd always envisioned. I'd found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.
Jake McKallister might have been a rock star, but he was no ordinary one. Surviving an unspeakable crime as a young teen had shaped him into a guarded workaholic, and he now lived his life trying to forget. If it hadn't been for music and the redemption he found through it, he might not have survived. Career success came easily for him. Personal connections did not.
I'm used to being in charge. In and out of the office. So, when my parents go behind my back and hire a co-CEO to help me manage my family's business, let's just say I don't take it too well. Especially not when the woman they've hired is the one girl who hated my guts in college. She thinks I'm an overprivileged, womanizing man-whore. I think she's an uptight, stuck-up bitch. And now she's here, in my office, telling me how to run my company. I don't think so.
At 34, I'm reeling from a divorce. I don't want to party or try to move on. I just want to stay home and post a new recipe on my blog: Brynn's Dips and Balls. But my friends aren't having it. Get out there again, they say. It will be fun, they say. I'm still taking a hard pass. Free designer cocktails, they say. And that's a game-changer. Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That's when I lose my mind.
The most beautiful man I've ever seen is the same one who can ruin everything. The first time I lay eyes on Callan Walker, I know he'll be trouble. With his smug grin, hot Aussie accent, and thousand-dollar shoes, he's just the kind of rich guy who always gets what he wants. And he wants two things: a night of sin, and my cooperation as he outmaneuvers his powerful mother to take control of his uncle's estate. I can't afford either one. I'm the only thing standing between my little sister and the foster care system.
Kale Bryant. Arrogant. Gorgeous. Commanding. This ER doctor is married to his job. His only vice is one-night stands and short-lived flings. He learned a long time ago loving someone isn't worth the risk. Harley Hope Masterson. Beautiful. Brave. Sweet. The owner of a small coffee shop knows what it's like to struggle. Embroiled in a bitter divorce, she's threatened with losing everything. When Kale accepts a new position down the street from Hope's shop, he begins to question every wall he's built around his heart.
Fun and flirty Monica Stevens lives for chocolate, fashion, and boys...in that order. And she doesn't take life too seriously, especially when it comes to dating. When a night of innocent banter with Seattle's hottest NFL quarterback turns passionate, she fears that everything she once managed to protect will soon be destroyed. Seattle's most eligible bachelor, Zachary Ryan, is a workaholic by nature, an undercover entrepreneur, and passionate about the organizations he supports. He's also addicted to Monica.
He stole her lyrics, and then he stole her heart.

Wolf's shattered heart finds no resolve in giving Lyric a chance to come back on tour. He can never be with her again. Not after she walked away. Conflicted with wants and needs, he struggles to remember who Wolf was before Lyric. That's what he needs to become again. Maybe then his heart will be safe. Or maybe there's no hope for the damaged.
But with stolen dreams, betrayals, and terrifying threats - no one's heart is safe. Not even the ones that may be destined to be together.
The voices are so well done and the perfect pick for the heroine and hero. This book is more than a sexy rock story. There is some suspense and a well written plot too. Enjoy!!

Any additional comments?
I read this Duet and already knew how much I loved Lyric and Wolf but "hearing" these characters really brought this story to life. Lynn and John did a fabulous job making me feel every emotion as it happened! If you don't know Lyric and Wolf's story, you are missing out! I promise their story will quickly become one of your favorites❤
I didn’t think it was possible, but this book is even better than book 1 of the duet!! KK Allen had outdone herself! This entire duet is sexy and fun while being sweet and caring. However, in Destined Hearts she adds in a ton of suspense. I couldn’t stop listening! She was throwing curveball after curveball and taking me on this intense ride!! I was rooting for Lyric and Wolf... sigh, that ending.
These narrators were perfect! I loved this book! So much! I felt the tension coming through John Masterson’s voice. I felt the fear in them both. Plus the anger, the portrayal of emotions was so good. Bravo!!! Y’all are a great team and compliment each other very well. I want more!!
Book review: Destined Hearts, what shall I say? First off, I think Ms. Allen should write a romantic suspense/thriller, I think she would rock it! And that comment won't make any sense until you READ THIS BOOK!
This book returns to Lyric and Wolf as they try and reconcile the ending of Dangerous Hearts. These people throw themselves back in together. They have to figure out where they stand with each other once more and lay all their secrets out on the table, especially Lyric , who is still struggling her past.
As with the first volume in this duology, it is quite explicit in both language & bedroom content. (So not for the younger fans of Ms. Allen's Summer Solstice series!)
I love how Wolf and Lyric communicate. Yes, it takes a while for Lyric to get everything out, but she does it well before the end. Also have to mention Terese, everyone should have a friend like her in their lives, someone who will give it to them straight. Lastly, Crawley, such a creep (well done!) every time I read his dialogue, I heard Crawley from Supernatural in my head. (Now you try not to!)
As for the end, wow! Lyric is no damsel in distress, she's a kick-ass heroine! Way to go, Ms. Allen!
I received an advanced viewer copy (I also preordered the kindle version and NEED the paperback on my shelf!) I can't wait for another K.K. Allen novel!
Audio review: I loved it! I’d already heard the duo in Dangerous Hearts but the male reader dropped his ‘sad cat diary’ inflections and it was much smoother to my ears.
Destined Hearts continues right where Dangerous Hearts left off.
K.K. Allen did a remarkable job with this story and she had me hooked until the last page. This novel was a roller-coaster of emotion.
While this was the continuation of Wolf and Lyric's story, the band members were also there along with a couple additional characters who all contributed to making this story so much more than I expected. I loved watching the progression of Wolf and Lyric's relationship. It was fast paced and had me wondering what will happen next.
The plot was fantastic, with the intrigue, the angst, the twists and turns and most importantly the romance. I was at the edge of my seat for most of the book.
The narration was ok. While the two narrators complimented each other, I really did not connect them with the characters. However this did not prevent me from enjoying the story.
This page-turner was a great conclusion to this duet.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I had already read and reviewed this book and listening to the audio was amazing. The narrators were great and just made you love the story even more. K.K. Allen has a way of writing that takes your breath away. Wolf and Lyric’s love story takes you on an amazing journey that will grip your heart, make you laugh and make you cry. I highly recommend listening to this book!!
The story had continued and its more than rocker romance.. its the drama, life behind the stage... Lynn and John did a fantastic job taking the story to another level... I enjoyed listening to their connection... the story flowed smoothly and my emotions are everywhere!
I was really hoping that this second book would increase my rating for this duology as a whole. It did not. If anything, exasperation increased. I honestly feel that Wolfe and Lyric's story could have been condensed into one book. Although, maybe a slightly longer one. That's saying a lot from someone who loves BIG books with lots of detail. The unnecessary sex scenes would have decreased it immeasurably. I don't mind them, but in this book, "less is more." Maybe, it's because I didn't fully connect with these characters or story. Many times, the intimate scenes felt thrown in and/or awkward. Also, I love a great book hero, but I never fully believed in Wolfe. He never felt like a character who was wholly reformed or redeemed. The best part of this book was the "jump-the-shark" moment towards the end. I won't spoil it, but any lesser person might have given up at this point. It was so out of left field, that I could help but watch the "car wreck." Meaning "car wreck" in the best way possible. In the end, when listening to the audio, I tolerated the narration much better than the first book.
