Publisher's summary
Enter Sunny Smith.
After turning the big 4-0 with few prospects on the horizon, Sunny creates 40 goals for herself - and sleeping with her writing idol, Danny Masters, makes the list. The two meet outside the theater hosting Danny’s premiere. He’s everything she’s imagined him to be. And she captivates him, reminding him of simpler times before the hollowness of Hollywood. But when Danny lashes out at the audience - his fans - during the postscreening Q&A session, Sunny bitterly returns his scorn from the head of his autograph line.
After a video of Sunny’s tirade goes viral, Danny desperately seeks out Sunny so he can apologize. When their paths cross again, they’ll have to look inside themselves to determine the true worth of adulation.

Tom Violet always thought that by the time he turned 35, he’d have everything going for him. Fame. Fortune. A beautiful wife. A satisfying career as a successful novelist. A happy dog to greet him at the end of the day. The reality, though, is far different. He’s got a wife, but their problems are bigger than he can even imagine. And he’s written a novel, but the manuscript he’s slaved over for years is currently hidden in his desk drawer while his father, an actual famous writer, just won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. His career, such that it is, involves mind-numbing corporate buzzwords....

Norris is clever, cynical, and quite possibly too smart for his own good. A Black French Canadian, he knows from watching American sitcoms that those three things don’t bode well when you are moving to Texas. Plunked into a new high school, Norris finds himself cataloging everyone he meets: the Cheerleaders, the Jocks, the Loners, and even the Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Making a ton of friends has never been a priority for him, and this way he can at least amuse himself until it’s time to go back to Canada, where he belongs. Yet those labels soon become actual people to Norris....

All she's got to do is get a book deal, snag a promotion, and boom! She's in. But then Adam Martinez - her first love and ex-fiancé - shows up as the college's new president. Sixteen-year-old Finley Price has perfected two things: how to direct a world-class production and how to fly way, way under the radar. The only person who ever seems to notice Finley is her best friend and godparents' son, Oliver Bertram. Since Finley moved in with her godparents after the death of her father, she and Oliver have grown close. If Finley could just take Oliver's constant encouragement to heart and step out of the shadows, she'd finally chase her dream of joining the prestigious Mansfield Theater.

Clinton Kelly is probably best known for teaching women how to make their butts look smaller. But in I Hate Everyone, Except You, he reveals some heretofore unknown secrets about himself, like that he's a finicky connoisseur of 1980s pornography, a disillusioned critic of New Jersey's premier water parks, and perhaps the world's least enthused high school commencement speaker.

Nice, entertaining read
If you could sum up Adulation in three words, what would they be?
Cute, feel good
What did you like best about this story?
The reader was excellent. Really used her voice to develop the characters. This is one book that I think was better in audio, than it would in hard copy, simply because of the reader.
Which character – as performed by Renee Raudman – was your favorite?
Danny.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Not sure
