Publisher's Summary

Summer is heating up for reluctant psychic Riley Thorn and her handsome private investigator boyfriend, Nick Santiago. First, her disapproving grandmother arrives determined to make Riley take her powers seriously or face the wrath of “the Guild”. Then there’s the homicide detective, who needs her help figuring out who murdered the well-dressed corpse in the walk-in closet.

Nick’s got his own hands full with a tricky missing person case, and his parents who want to know why he didn’t tell them about his live-in girlfriend. Then there’s the fact that he’s still the tiniest bit stressed about Riley almost getting murdered earlier that summer. The last thing he wants is her getting involved in another investigation.

Things go from bad to worse when the body count starts stacking up, the meet-the-parents dinner goes horribly wrong, and their elderly roommate is up to no good...dressed like a mime.

To top it off, Riley is forced to return to Channel 50 on official police business to question her spray-tanned news anchor ex-husband and his new weather girl fiancée.

The trouble comes to a head when Riley receives a warning from the killer: Back off, or she’s next. Someone has to solve these murders before she becomes the next corpse.

Waste of time - will request a credit

Enjoyed the first one - this one was so poorly written, predictable and childish I don’t why I stuck with it. Kept thinking it’d get better - it did not. The lame sex jokes and references- seriously?!? Maybe for a 12 year old boy they’d work. Only good thing about it is Gabe’s character

Hilarious 10/10

Between the writing and Natalie Duke’s narration this book had me laughing out loud throughout the whole story. It is all so well done. 10/10 would recommend! I’ve devoured the first two books.

Brilliant addition to the series!

This is a wonderful second book of the series.
Very enjoyable! Full of laughs! Crazy characters! I enjoy the turn that Nick and Riley’s relationship has taken. One of my favorite scenes is when they meet his family and there is a discussion of whose family is worse…then they talk about them meeting? ha Ha! I can only imagine! It’s really a toss up which is my fav family but boy did I enjoy those scenes.

There also were many top notch secondary characters. His family, her family, the elderly roomies then add in the people that we randomly meet. Gabe I just really love! He is an A+ character. I also enjoyed how Nick got “Alistaired”.

I am loving this author! The way she writes bringing these characters and their situations to life. She doesn’t write over the top funny just funny. Adding in the token cow was genius!

I did listen to this on audio. Natalie Duke rocked the narration of all these characters! She does wonderful! She levels up this story!

Great audio book

I thoroughly enjoyed Riley and all the other characters, that have been brought to life by the narrator. Natalie Duke has a huge range of voices for all the different people in the book & you easily identify each character. The book is a fun mystery & thoroughly recommend. Waiting impatiently for the third ok to arrive as an audiobook in this series

Another hit

Thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd part of the Riley Thorn series. Especially all the interruptions when She and Nick are wanting sexy times. The characters are Hilarious and its pure humor all the way through. Can't wait to hear the audio on Part 3 when it comes available.

A really fun story

Picks right up where we left off with book one. Great story, twists and turns and so many laughs. Nick has emotional growth and Riley gets to deal with grandmother who wants to whip her family in shape. The secondary characters are all back and the shenanigans abound. I know I’ll listen again.

2ND BOOK IN THE SERIES

This is the 2nd book in this series.
I am listening to these books in audio and I cannot tell you how brilliant and addictive they are. So different from any other romance series I have read or listened to, in fact, the romance element is only a small part of the story.

In this book, the quirky psychic Riley and her new boyfriend Nick the private investigator continue their journey and their story pretty much picks up where the other book left off with regards to their relationship.
Nick is on his own case investigating a missing person, and now Riley is his PA but when his old work colleague detective Webber asks Riley to also help him on a case Nick who witnessed Riley being shot in the last book is reluctant to let her help.

Nick is developing feelings for Riley that he has never experienced before now that he has shunned his bachelor lifestyle and he has become very protective of her and he's almost caveman over Riley but Riley being Riley just shuns him off and gets on with doing what she does in her own crazy way.

Within the mix of all this, there are lots of shenanigans. A bossy Grandmother who is head of the Psychic guild, a dog that only eats human food and farts a lot, geriatric housemates, a murderer on the loose, and a spiteful angry neighbor. The whole plot is just filled with craziness and I love it.

There is never a dull moment, it's like a soap opera and I can't wait for the next book.

Another great caper with the gang!

Another fab story by Lucy Score, I love all the different characters she writes, with Riley & Nick great leads. The narrator on the audiobook did another fantastic job. I look forward to book 3.

Glittering success!

First off: Natalie Duke, you are a friggin' rock star!! Your narration of this story was absolutely flawless. Thank you for making listening such a great experience.
And thank you Lucy Score for writing yet another laugh out loud, snort tea through your nose story. I SO love Riley and Nick and all their crazy friends.
For those who have not yet been introduced to Riley Thorn I would suggest that you start with the first book in the series. It's not necessary to enjoy this second book but will give you a really good intro into all the characters who inhabit this story. Then sit back and enjoy!

Gold star to the narrator

There were many comedy sitcom type situations with cameo roles for secondary characters.
Some were relevant to the plot and others not.

Riley was distracted by her fear of being recognised and harassed by the media, from the first story.
She had difficulty concentrating on her ESP role.
Nicks and Riley’s burgeoning love was also a distraction.

The narrator carried this book.

Bloody love this series Lucy Score

I read this on kindle and now listened to it on audible, happy to pay twice if it funds Score to write more of this! The ensemble of characters is hilarious, I want my own Burt and a spite cow (and a Nic for that matter). This novel makes a life as a PI physic living in a decrepit mansion with the senile look mighty appealing. Bring on book 3!!!
Also, Natalie Duke kills the narration.
