Nicole sure knows how to make it exciting! Such strong emotions and it kept me wanting more.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel have a connection between each other and it shows with their narration of it. I love to listen to them!

A Heartrendingly Beautiful Story! Fantastic🎧📚🎧

Wow, Nicole Dykes sure knows how to take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride and has you holding on for dear life. This is a beautiful story, one that is high in angst and tears you heart out at times but that does not stop you from falling for the characters and rooting for them the entire time. The book starts off in the present with Linc and Penelope, they are college students and roommates. Both are train wrecks, Penelope leads a life of self destruction and while Linc is not much better he still looks out for her. The author then takes us back to where it all began, how they meet and what happens along the way to make them the way they are. It does alternate back and forth in time but it is easy to follow and the author keeps you wondering what went on along the way. This book is Linc and Penelope’s story, but it is just as much Colt’s story too, Colt is Penelope’s age and Linc’s younger brother. The three met when they were younger and the brothers took her under their wing. I thought It was brilliant a way to tell their story, showing who they were, where they came from, how their relationships grew and where do they go from here. I just loved where the story was taken in the end, though it was not an easy journey for them it was definitely worth the ride. Nicole Dykes, thank you for the awesome story, it did not just captivate my attention it captivated my heart as well.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They do an awesome job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. Tor Thom played Linc’s role with perfection and Charely Ongel did the same for Penelope. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions which is heard in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen🎧

So many emotions!

I listened to this in one sitting! I couldn't bring myself to stop the story. Linc and Penelope are such tortured souls. The narrators...oh my goodness, they are so perfect! I will listen to anything by Tor Thom. I can't recommend this enough as it was absolutely an amazing listen.

Emotional listen!

Regrets is all consuming as a listen. Nicole Dykes has written a forbidden romance that will stick with you long after you read or listen to it. Penelope is welcomed into Linc and Colt's home. As a foster child, it's hard to find any place that is comfortable. It's clear she is in love with Colt, but has a love/hate relationship with Linc. And now as time goes by, tragedy strikes, circumstances change, and Linc and Penelope are left to pick up the pieces and move on. But will they be able to? Talk about dark, gritty and down right amazing. Dykes takes us on a ride that is hard to get off. I couldn't stop listening to this book. It's high on passion, full of remorse and guilt, and will hurt your heart. The twists and turns this book takes leading to closure are incredibly heartbreaking. This is a taboo in the most delicious of ways, and it's easy to devour. I can't wait to see what is coming next.

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel bring this gem to life. They are a perfect fit to these character. Tor brings an edginess to Linc, a man with attitude yet adds so much underlying emotion that your heart will break. Ongel nails Penelope with her outwardly passionate and temperamental outbursts. I love this team, and this book brings out their best.

All consuming

Wow...this audible blew me away. The story was so...raw and all consuming. My heart broke, I felt joy, I felt so many different emotions though this whole thing that it was hard not to get wrapped up in everything that happened to Linc and Penelope.

This is definitely not an easy ride but it's so worth it in the end. A real...well page turner if I had been reading the actual book. I also thought the voices fit the characters very well which is always a positive cause I've listened to a few that didn't and it created a complete disconnect with the book. I would definitely say a five star read all around and can't wait to listen to more books from this author.

Beautifully narrated, dark, gritty, & emotional!

I've read all The Sterlings in ebook, and fell in love with these stories! I was thrilled to be able to listen to the audiobook for Regrets. It was wonderfully narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel! I always enjoy their narrations and this book was no different. Lincoln and Penelope's story isn't one of sunshine and rainbows. It's dark and gritty and heartbreaking. I love all the Sterlings and enjoyed this narration SO much. Listening to it after having read the e-book was such an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

Regrets

Regrets is the first book in The Sterlings series. This book is told from dual points of view from Linc and Penelope. Regrets goes back and fourth from the past to the present.

Linc and Penelope meet when she is 9 and he is 11. She becomes best friends with his brother and ends up in a relationship with him. She's had a rough upbringing and is in the foster system. Something happens and Linc's parents end up fostering her. Linc is the bad boy in the family and Colt (his brother) is the good son whom follows all the rules and doesn't like to lie.

Now that they are in college something happened to Colt and Linc and Penelope now live together. They are both having a hard time in the last year after Colt's accident. As the book goes on their feelings develop stronger. They have always had feelings for each other, but she was in a relationship with his brother.

Secrets come out about their past, as well as Colt's past. Can they survive with each other through the secrets and lies. Can they get over what happened in the past? I enjoyed this story, and am excited to listen to the next one.

Regret nothing even better in audio

This book is one of my 2020 favorites. When it came out in audio I had to have it because seriously it’s that good. Let me tell you. From the first deep sexy sentence out of his mouth I knew the author scored on finding the perfect male narrator. I mean this man could read the ingredients off a box and make it sound sexy. The female narrator is just as wonderful! Sultry and feminine they are the perfect duo for the Sterling family books. They are just plain sexy. (Found out they were married and it makes you wonder if after reading some of these scenes ummmmmm).

I absolutely love the Sterling family series. This being the first of four. Each book is amazing with its own vibe. This book is angsty and dark and tortures your soul with its struggle. The book in print is phenomenal. In audio it’s a whole bee ball game. It is elevated to beyond perfection! Seriously Nicole is killer at melting you’re heart, sucking every emotion out of you and enveloping you so tightly in the story you have lasting. Feelings for the characters after she’s done. Superb

One of the best books EVER!!!

I don’t even have words. This story literally blew me away when I read it and now listening to it was just the icing on the cake!! Great narration has brought this frenemies to lovers, angsty romance to life! Honestly Nicole’s BEST book by far!!! Linc and P are EVERYTHING!!! My absolute FAVORITE couple!!! Their story is gut wrenchingly BEAUTIFUL!!!! A story that will leave you breathless and in all your feels🥰🥰🥰

Dark and gritty

I read this ebook initially and then came back for the audio which provided an entirely different experience. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are new narrators for me and I was very impressed with them! I think they performed the characters’ attitudes and personalities well. Overall, this was a great audiobook!
