She’s All That meets She’s the Man in this New Adult sports romance about a British bad boy rugby player who’s forced to start over in America and finds an unlikely ally in the coach’s daughter when she offers him a deal he can’t resist.

Leaving it all on the field is one thing. Giving his all to love? Terrifying.

British bad boy Cillian “Kill” Cairney is ruthless on the rugby pitch. After getting a permanent red card from his team in London, the only team that will have him is an Ivy League school in New Hampshire. But the guys hate him, his coach doesn’t trust him, and worst of all? His starting position is in the hands of his coach’s fiery, rugby-obsessed, very off-limits daughter. Not only does he have to earn his coach’s respect, but Kill has to earn Rory’s—and nothing has ever seemed more difficult. That is, until she approaches him with a proposition that could benefit them both....

Rory St. James has spent all her life immersed in rugby. Which is...part of the problem. She’s tired of being friend-zoned. She wants to get the guy, and to do that, she needs the frustratingly charming Cillian to teach her. But the more time they spend together, the more lines begin to blur. In a game where trust and loyalty are tested, who will be the winner? Or will love be the final red card?

Classic Maren Moore charm! Red Card is effortlessly swoony, delightfully fun, and deliciously sexy! It's sincere, heartfelt, with just the right dash of drama...and also full of plenty of rugby team antics AND thick thighs. And as always, Maren Moore balances heart, heat, and humor with deft acumen. And the spice is spicing! Prepare to be charmed by the most endearing cast of rugby heartthrobs and the most delightfully fierce but vulnerable heroine who keeps them all in line. I'm already madly in love with the Prescott U world!

The dual audio narration is amazing. Matt Sykes is delectable with his accent as Cillian, and Stella is the perfect Rory with all her heart and sassy and charm. Both do a great job going back and forth between the US and British accents- truly a fun listen.

Red Card is the first book in Maren’s new series Prescott University and it did not disappoint. A new sports world for Moore to dive into but I’m so here for it.
I mean, If you love a good sports romance(rugby), with a broken bad boy who falls hard for the coaches daughter then this book is the right one for you.
Cillian and Rory had all the banter, sass, tension and angst. She helps him with the team and he helps her with her pick up game. Slowly but surely things evolve between these two. They have more in common than they know, and Cilllian shows Rory who he truly is under his bad boy persona. Rory is a spitfire, funny, and shows Cillian a side of herself that he isn’t used to. Oh the forbidden romance and sassy rendezvous…. Yes, please. Of course, there are a few plot twist I didn’t see coming but I do love how his team finally lets him in and they rally around him when he needs it most. His growth through out the storyline was just a chefs kiss.

The audiobook was narrated by Matt Sykes and Stella Hunter. This was the first time that I heard both of them together. This dual narration was really good, kept me engaged and the British accent was so yummy to listen to. Their characterizations were spot on and evoked so many emotions at the needed times. Great listen.

What a great start to the series

A British bad boy with an attitude problem and the coach’s daughter who isn’t afraid to put him in his place? Sign me up! The banter is sharp, the chemistry is filthy good, and the slow-burn payoff? Total guilty pleasure 🏉🔥

First of all, I am so proud of Maren for her first traditionally published book. I have been a fan of hers for years and she so deserves this! Second, Maren writes cayenne infused books like no other and I always know I'm in for a heated read!

This book was an absolute joy to read. I found myself cackling many times (especially when Cillian finds Rory's "self-care" device) and found myself swooning more times than I can count. I loved both characters so much and could relate to Rory and her awkward self-consciousness!

Cillian has come to the States as his very last chance to play rugby at the collegiate level. He desperately wants to go pro, but needs to be SEEN to do that. After losing his mum, he made some unfortunate choices that burned most of his bridges in England. He isn't at Prescott to make friends, which is good since no one on the team likes him. But when that animosity could get him booted from the team, he decides to take Rory up on a proposition she made...

Rory has been continually friendzoned. She is awkward around anyone NOT on the rugby team her father coaches and is tired of being alone. She asks the oh so grumpy Cillian to help her learn how to flirt in exchange for getting the team to accept him...and to her surprise and delight, he accepts.

Now that Rory and Cillian are starting to spend time together, Rory has to remind herself that he is only TEACHING her, not that he actually LIKES her. But the way he looks at her has her dreaming of a different outcome....

This book has such great banter and a compelling plot. I could not stop reading (or listening) to it. The audio book is #chefskiss.

The audio is perfection!

I am so excited that this is Maren's first traditionally published novel, and in true Maren fashion, it is FANTASTIC! Characters that are fun, lovable, quirky, damaged & delicious (looking at you Cillian!).

First off, I absolutely LOVED this audiobook! Stella Hunter (she is always fantastic) and Matt Sykes were a great duo for portraying Rory & Cillian! It is dual narration, & they both were so good during their chapters. How they brought the story & characters to life, expressed all the emotions that they went through, it was just fantastic!! You really felt everything that they felt, & it made the reading experience even better than anticipated (expectations are always high with how great Maren is). ESPECIALLY getting to hear Cillian's (Matt's) British accent! Talk about swoony!

Maren has such a knack for giving us characters that are so witty, but also have so much depth! Cillian for example...the bad boy fighting for a second chance in a new country with trauma that has held him hostage for so long. I love me a broken bad boy, & Cillian checked every box for me! I will not spoil it for everyone, but he will pull at your heartstrings & make you just want to hug him!!

Rory, sweet Rory! I just love her! Coaches daughter, one of the guys, sports obsessed, & clueless when it comes to connecting with a boy...she is precious! She & Cillian realize that they can help each other with what they need, & working together on "teaching" Rory quickly turns to feelings that can't be fought! I love when that happens hehe! Their chemistry is through the roof, and when they combust, it is ON! Cillian is a filthy boy who loves to eat & we love that!

PS: My new favorite microtrope may be when the bad boy shows up at the door in the middle of the night during a storm needing her....just saying...top tier!

If you can't tell, read/listen to this one! You won't regret it!

Grumpy x Sunshine Rugby Romance❤️

Red Card is the first book in the Prescott University series. It follows Cillian Cairney and Rory St. James. This was the first time I have read the author's work and I really enjoyed it! I read it so fast because I was so captivated by the story. Also who doesn’t love a man with a slutty thigh tattoo?!

Cillian is the British bad boy in the rugby world and finds himself moving across the pond after running into a bit of trouble with his old team. He has Rory help gain the team's confidence and trust that he won't mess things up for them. He is caring, thoughtful, sweet, playful, grumpy, and confident.

Rory is obsessed with all things Rugby thanks to having grown up around it. She is confident and a bit of a ballbuster with the men in her life. Outside of the Rugby pitch she tends to clam up when talking to men. Which is why she asks Cillian to teach her how to flirt and date. She is also sassy, a ball of sunshine, an extrovert, funny, and caring.

This book was fun and entertaining but also had an emotional side as well. At first, I wasn’t sure how Cillian and Rory would be together but they grew on me over time. I rather enjoyed how they naturally fell for each other after developing a friendship. I also love how they were able to help each other grow into who they want to be.

You will enjoy this book if you like the following:
- Sports romance (Rugby)
- Coach’s daughter
- College setting
- Broken boy x good girl
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Found family

I am looking forward to continuing with the series and seeing what comes next!

Great start of a new series.
