Publisher's Summary

For a moment Wilson froze and looked at the white-helmeted pilot who sat high on the nose of the colossal fighter. Across the small void, he saw the pilot's eyes peer over his mask. Dark, chilling eyes. Wilson kicked right rudder to slide closer and jam any chance for a bandit gunshot. When the bandit pulled all the way over, almost on its back but in control, he cursed in frustration at what he knew was coming next. The hostile fighter reversed over the top in a negative-g maneuver, his nose tracking down on Wilson like a falling sledgehammer in slow motion. Horrified, Wilson realized he faced an imminent snapshot. With the little air speed he had, he inverted his Hornet to avoid the attack. His aircraft still rolling, Wilson saw that the monster had another weapon at its disposal.

Critic Reviews

"A page turner... Raven One makes a major contribution to aircraft carrier history during difficult deployments. The author has skillfully woven the intense combat maneuvers with a fascinating human interest story." (Naval Historical Foundation)

Kevin's knowledge of naval aviation is shared in a way that both combat veterans can relate to and the common non military person can enjoy. nice work!

Great story by an aviator

I'm not sure if Miller is a former Naval aviator but he sure writes like one. Great story! Loved every minute!

Great Listen

Thoroughly enjoyed the story line. I'm a non-navy guy, so had to get used to the lingo. But once I did, I felt like I was one of the guys in the Ready Room or Cockpit. Characters were well developed. Bad guys made you dislike them. Good guys made you love 'em. Built good tension and suspense.

Highly recommend!

Great story!

While inclusive of the camaraderie, exhilaration, and triumph of Naval flight ops, the author includes for realities sake the less appreciated aspects of deployment such as separation from home and loved ones, misapplied and undeserved authority, life errors, fears to be faced and death of friends and allies. In this mixture, reflective of scenes oft repeated in both geography and time, the reader watches and listens to events relating to a warrior whose subservience to God, disciplined practices, his duty and his compatriots, in a representation of what we as US citizens pray is the composition and demeanor of our men at arms. The author is either intimately familiar with the subject matter in its entirety, or has one amazing imagination. In either case, I'll be anticipating more from this talented and follow-worthy teller of tales.
