Book Two in the New York Times Best-Selling Harbinger Series

Half-angel Trinity and her bonded gargoyle protector, Zayne, have been working with demons to stop the apocalypse while avoiding falling in love. The Harbinger is coming…but who or what is it? All of humankind may fall if Trinity and Zayne can’t win the race against time as sinister forces gather.

As tensions rise, they must stay close together and patrol the DC streets at night, seeking signs of the Harbinger, an entity that is killing Wardens and demons with no seeming rhyme or reason. But as deaths pile up and they uncover a plot endangering someone dear to Zayne, Trin realizes she is being led…herded…played for some unknown end. As anger builds and feelings spiral out of control, it becomes clear that rage may be the ruin of them all.

In all honesty

This is another amazing book by Jennifer, she never fails to make you happy, break your heart, and mend it back together in the same back.
Zayne and trinity are my absolute favorite duo and I look forward to this long patient wait 🤓

Rage and Ruin

Angels, Demons, Ghost and Wardens oh my!

I loved book one, but man oh man book 2 was even better so you could say I adored booked 2. There was just so much more!

Zayne is my new favorite.

Trinity really learns a lot about herself and what she is made of. I love her relationship with Zayne but I also love that she is kind of friends with Roth! I mean the crown freaking Prince of hell. It’s ironic. ;)

SO much of the story happens in this book and I should have known this was going to be at least three books yet I still went in and listened knowing I am going to have to wait for the conclusion for months and months. Shame on me lol.

Also we need to shout out Peanut because his character is kinda awesome. :)

Also Bambi (from the dark elements series) is in this book too <3

Great narration I loved it. I really think Lauren does a great job with these characters!

Gets better

This book was more addictive than the first one. I like the characters, and I’m excited to go back and read the original series after, just with some idea of how things will go. I don’t think the order matters really. But I’m already listening to the next book and very emotionally invested.

Wow! That ending !!!

This book was so frustrating at times that I’ve had to write my review as I’m reading it. I have never been so annoyed at a main character as I have been with Trinity. She is 10x worse in book two than book one and I honestly don’t know if I can make it through another one with her woe is me angst (I will continue the series)! The storyline is good and I love Zayne but Trinity is just so very annoying and childish and learned nothing from before or reading others body language. She is the epitome of clueless. Every time she could just speak and make things better she does the opposite- it just is chapters after chapters of her childishness and angst - she goes on and on about honesty and yet lies to everyone including herself! If it weren’t for Zayne and the storyline and other characters I would so quit this series! I just hope she gets over herself before the end of this book so I can finally enjoy the next book!

Yay! It finally happened! I knew once she got over herself and stopped lying to herself and Zayne things would be so much better! And of course the author had to put a monkey wrench in the plot as soon as things get good and addicting! I cannot wait to find out what happens next!!! What an ending!! Book three here I come!

Kept me guessing

In my review of the first book, I was cautiously optimistic about the rest of the series. The female protagonist has a lot of similarities with the one in the Covenant series (impulsive, self-focused, a little whiny, easily bored, but also specially and uniquely gifted) While this female seemed more mature, I wasn’t quite sure I could manage another round with that character type.

What kept me going in this series was the interesting other characters and clever plot. I certainly didn’t see what was coming.

And while I still find myself doing a lot of eye rolling at the female protagonist, she is not quite as annoying and is showing signs of character growth.

What I like most about this book series is that it makes you think about the balance of good and evil in everyone. The demons have compassion and the good guys are corruptible.

So onward I go to the third book in the series. It’s looking a little bit predictable (but maybe with a twist or two) and will probably have a HEA that’s a little over the top. But that’s ok by me 😉

I Wanted More From The Book

So like in the original Dark Elements Series the second book is used as a staging ground. Aside from the cliffhanger ending not too much is really happening or revealed in the book. Trinity acts like a jealous brat for a good 80% of the time. She was much more likeable in the first book. Zayne also comes off as slightly more secretive. There are times the characters are off doing things that never get explained. maybe saving it for the next book. It almost feels like it's a few chapters short of a complete story.

OMG! Love this book

Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith! This book was so good I listen in one day.

Trinity is hard headed and funny. I don't blame her for making most of the decisions she makes.

Zay is willing to do what it takes took show Trinity she is stubborn and worth it all.

There end of the book will surprise you!!!!

WHAT THE HECK!

Now, that is what you call a cliffhanger! I just went from tears to unbelief. This book plays with your emotions. There are certain times where you just feel for the characters and the pain that they are in at that moment. I don’t want say too much about the book because I don’t want to give anything away. I will say that a lot of things are revealed in this book, and some of the revelations will blow you away! Just know that it is a great sequel.
