Tara Brach is Wonderful!
More wonderful, life soothing wisdom from Tara Brach. She is a fantastic teacher and has a lovely, calming and reassuring voice and what she says is down to earth and easy to understand... and easy to put into practice in your life. Its all about coming back to yourself as a resource/refuge as opposed to seeking comfort in transient pleasures, out there in the world. The message is very moving... I cried with relief sometimes!
She points out how we can treat ourselves badly and are our own worst critics...and that would make anyone feel bad! Here is a way out of our self defeating thoughts and habits.
Tara has a light hearted approach and also has a great sense of humour and often uses it to get the point across. Its a gentle but profound journey into healing, that she offers.
This book can work well for seasoned meditators from any system or people who have never meditated before. It has universal appeal and can be pertinent for people of any faith or none.
I've been listening to Tara Brach for many years... she has helped me be a lot more compassionate towards myself and others and I therefore feel happier and more at home in myself. I'm also learning to be more aware of the present moment being where we live and what we actually have.
Listening to this book is certainly better than reading it ,in my opinion, as you can enjoy the spoken instructions for the meditations and her calming voice.
I can't recommend this, or indeed anything from her, highly enough.

Quite a nice and helpful book
This is quite a nice book. I’ve listened to quite a few of Brach’s podcasts etc so was a bit worried the book would repeat a lot of the same stories (as I’ve found with some Jack Kornfield books) but that wasn’t the case. The tone of the book is kind and it feels supportive. It’s also easy to listen to. Most of it you can listen at x2 speed although you would want to slow down for the meditations. The meditations/practices themselves are clearly set out and easy to follow. They are not going to change your life overnight (none of these books can despite what some claim) but you will definitely find them helpful. This is a book I will want to read again. My only slight quibbles are that it would be helpful to have an accompanying pdf with the practices in them and/or to have the practices marked out as chapters so they can be easily revisited.

Excellent guide for del compassion and world compassion
I am very please to return to Tara after desilusión with Reggie Ray at Dharma Ocean who created an interesting protocol but then I found out that his manipulation and abuse of power contradicted all what he was treating to teach .... with Tara and this book I have found a non lineage - guru option were I can value my experience, where I feel treated with compassion and st the same time is very real, is with practice that we can walk into compassion . Tara also offer options that do not mean you have to be part of a whole institution but just have the intention and a friend or one that you do not even know can become your peer, this approach go more in line to create a real community non hierarchy not justify in a fixed lineage. This is a real somatic meditation , is a clear way to meditate with the body , collect a lot of the Tibetan traditions of Buddhism and others in a very accessible way. Finally the element of social activism ha rights towards LGBTQ people, race, gender and specially animal rights ( less included in other approaches) was one of the key aspects I felt this book was very good, thanks Tara for bringing this at a time when options like this are much more needed xxx

Book Review for Radical Compassion
The sweet and caring voice of Tara, her fullness and realness of narrating and holding the meditations was a Real Bonus. This is not a book❤️ It's a gift of self healing & Awakening.
I had to keep pausing to allow myself to recover from overwhelming emotions of true heartfelt sobbing!
I've practiced a lot of spiritual teachings and done oodles of self work... It's fascinating to keep finding more tools and more amazing people on the Path who enrich our process of becoming whole again; the way we were originally intended to be... Open, Loving, Compassionate and Full of Light.
I whole heartedly recommend this to EVERYONE, especially if you're ready to explore and know yourself better.. I can't wait to share it, buy it and gift it to so many of my friends and family.
Extending my deep GRATITUDE to Tara for her life's work, commitment and dedication to serving her highest soul mission in assisting humanity with it's healing & awakening process! With Love and BLESSINGS to ALL.🙏

The hype isn’t matched
I’m unsure how come this book was so highly rated. It’s a bit boring. It’s very American (I’m British) so the choice of words seem quite faux-sincere a little/ I felt it wasn’t useful for me. I’ve found Dalia lama books useful tho.

Wonderful book read by the Author
I have greatly benefited from listening to this book. It felt felt like a mini enyclopedia of mindfulness practices; particularly in the last couple of chapters. It’s rare for a book of this type, but everything resonated with me so strongly - perhaps because Tara was reading it.

Deeply insightful and useful
This is a very beautiful, deeply moving, insightful and practical book from an author who has a very profound understanding. Every chapter gave clear guidance and built on the previous one. I found the guided meditations especially useful. The final chapter is a gem. This is one of the most engaging, best written books on the subject, that I have come across.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.
