FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF LOST IN TIME

At CERN, a scientist has just made an incredible discovery—a breakthrough that may answer the deepest questions about human existence.

But what he's found is far more dangerous than he ever imagined.

Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. It looks like an organised data stream, being broadcast over what he calls a quantum radio.

Could it be a signal from another universe? A message sent from the future? Or something else entirely?

As Ty peels back the layers of his discovery, he learns that what he's found isn't what he thought it was. The encoded message is far more profound. It may alter our understanding of human existence and the universe.

But Ty is not the only one looking for it. Someone has been following his research for a long time. And they'll do anything to prevent him from unravelling what is being broadcast by the quantum radio...

Because the first one to discover the truth may well control the future.

Con calificación alta para:

The Audiobook "quantum Radio" Presents An Intriguing Premise That Blends Quantum Physics, Multiverse Theory, And Alternate History Into A Suspenseful Science Fiction Adventure. While The Engaging Storyline And Thought-provoking Concepts Are Praised, The Narrative Is Criticized For Implausible Plot Points, Underdeveloped Characters, Slow Pacing At Times, Predictable Twists, And An Unsatisfying Conclusion That Leaves Many Questions Unanswered. The Story Revolves Around The Discovery Of A Mysterious Signal That Leads To The Exploration Of Parallel Universes, Including One Where The Nazis Won World War Ii. Despite Its Flaws, The Audiobook Offers A Compelling Blend Of Science Fiction, Espionage Thriller, And Speculative Historical Elements.

A YA story with

Some science, some time, travel, and some history. Adults will be frustrated with lack of character development, very limited science knowledge and overly long trek through an alternative political history. Ray Porters narration can be great but often becomes. overly dramatic. He has Ty angry, yelling,, confrontational, and childlike with his father, and all inappropriately so.

Good enough to finish

I’ve decided that I don’t care about multiverses. The narrator is very good. The story wasn’t interesting.

Beginning of series?

I like the way AG Riddle consistently portrays people as good and portrays women as smart partners and not just extra characters. The four main characters were extremely likable and I enjoyed some of the philosophy put forth by these well-developed characters. Definitely worth a credit. Regarding narration by Roy Porter, I typically enjoy his narration but have noticed that he does the same voice for all women and it doesn't sound right to me. I've heard some excellent changes over the past few years in how male narrators voice women's characters (more realistic and not just a falsetto). I don't know what coaching is needed but Ray, I hope you feel open to working on this.

Wonderful

Riddle has incorporated science, math and imagination perfectly. His characters present as real and with depth. Narrator is great match.

Generic conspiracy thriller

Overall, just a generic conspiracy theory thriller with a bit of quantum BS thrown in to justify an alt-history multiverse. But story and characters are quite generic. It's fine to listen to in background while working, but not deserving of undivided attention.

Entertaining but the ending is meh

This is an entertaining take on the multiverse, but ultimately it feels lacking. It’s also another book that feels like it was written to be made into a script. The banter between the characters is flippant, especially given the situation they’re in. It feels like there’s never any real stakes for any of them. It’s definitely Michael Crichton-esque, but without the polish.

Ray Porter’s narration is the biggest issue for me, though. I really enjoyed his performance in “Project Hail Mary”, but this was downright tedious, especially the extended robot-voiced dialogue in the final chapters. In his effort to be a more natural voice, I think he takes too many liberties with his cadence and inflection, and I feel it changes the author’s original intent.

It’s entertaining, but lacks the wow factor I look for in sci-fi stories.

Good stand-alone or series start

This story was enjoyable enough as a stand-alone work, but also left it open for further releases in a series. Though there were some “oh come on” moments, I’d be happy with either direction to be honest.

Ray Porter did an amazing job as always

Entertaining, even with the meh...

Overall, a fun read in multiverse science fiction. But it could have been so much better. With a plot hole so large it renders the entire story senseless, one is left wondering what the book could have been if the author had stuck with the story introduced in the first 20 chapters.

Meh

The story starts strong, drags ponderously in the middle, and then finishes strong-er. It didn’t make me want to buy the second book. Ray Porter did an amazing job with the performance, however.
