Seriously disappointing

Normally I enjoy Louise Bay very much, and how can you not like narration by Shane and Claire. If it wasn't for the narrators, I probably would have returned this book way earlier than I did, as it is I returned it at about 80% ... this book was incredibly frustrating, boring, unrealistic and just plain f****** dumb. SPOILERS past this point, so only continue if u don't mind my honest explanation of why this is not worth a credit, I wouldn't even finish it if it was free on Audible Escape lol

okay we start off the book with Ash and Luke in their late twenties maybe 30 , they are both currently dating other people. Luke has been with his gf for 3 years and Ash has been with her bf for a few months. Ash has been in love with Luke since they were young children but of course Luke has never thought of Ash as anything other than his best friend. Okay so the first 8 or 10 chapters is just unnecessary BS of them with their other spouses, then a day after Luke breaks up with his girlfriend ( Ash broke up with her by a few weeks before that) they sleep together lol youd think Ash would be and intelligent person seeing as she is a nurse and is pursing her MBA but she is absolutely positively dumb! The day after they sleep together, luke is ready to move in and start a life with Ash ... but Ash tells Luke that she thinks he needs to spend some time on his own... go rent his own apartment, go date other people, go experience life on his own, and so he does... which of course devastates Ash LOL he start dating another woman, several times he goes out with this woman and kisses her quite a bit. Then Ash starts spending her time with her ex and then we continue on like this for another 10 chapters of them dating other people and Ash being a whiny immature girl. I don't want to sit there and listen to a book about our main characters dating other people, literally 80% of this entire book is them actively dating other people. The little bit of time that we get with them actually together, is them either just f****** or whining about wanting to be together, it's exhausting. Luke seemed like a decent dude but there honestly just wasn't enough character development, I had no connection to either of them. I was super disappointed 😒

Promises or Fate

Luke was a man that liked control and being in control. His life was solid and change was unnecessary. However, he was about change everything for her...Ash. They had been friends, a family of sort but their relationship took a drastic change in direction. Hidden feelings and desires erupted. Luke didn't fight the pull but Ash fought with all her might. She wanted Luke and the HEA but Luke never wanted that fairytale. Could Luke change? Was she the one?

Shane East and Clare Corbett brought this couple to life. East gave us a vivid picture of Luke in control and losing cotrol with Ash. You could picture Luke with his laughter, frustration, and eventual happiness. Corbett gave an amazing portrayal of a woman falling in love, the pain she felt at possibly being rejected, and the fear that her world was about to crumble.

Love this duo.

This is exactly how I want to hear Shane East!

However you look at it, Ashley and Luke are absolutely perfect for each other. And as soon as they both realize it, the real fun begins.

I don't know how familiar you are with Shane East, but holy moly this book is dirty and hearing his amazing voice whispering such naughty words in my ear...well, this book is a #onehandedread (if I were holding a physical book) if I've ever read/heard one.

Super hot, fun, flirty, and one of those reads you just can't put down. Promised Nights is exactly what you need.

Sexy

I think that Shane East and Clare Corbett are new favorite narrating couple!
Shane East brought Luke to life for me...with that sexy smooth tone.
Clare Corbett was the best Ash I could have imagined...she was full of cheer and bubbly when needed and I loved how she begged for Luke.
Luke was amazing with Ash...the way he loved her, cared for her, he dove in head first and it paid off....big time.
I love this series so much I can't wait to listen to the next one!

Promised to make you SWOON

Although I struggled with the heroine & found her annoying at times, overall I really enjoyed their love story.

The secondary characters were excellent. And Luke was SO SWOONY. The obstacles they had to overcome really made this book.

I loved their chemistry. Louise Bay sure knows how to turn up the heat.

The narration was excellent & I throughly enjoyed this listen!

You Can never go wrong with a Louise Bay novel and Promised Nights was all that plus Shane East. Yum. I love Louise Bay stories because they always center around a fab female lead and a swoony af hero. This time the heroine wasn’t my favorite, but by god our hero, Luke, is all the things! The romance and amazing writing was still there so I enjoyed it.

Shane East and Clare Corbett narrate and do a wonderful job. I mean, you cannot go wrong with Shane East and Clare was a great as well. My first audio from her and I hope I get to listen to more. 4 stars.

This storyline is a beautiful romance of two childhood friends growing up together and living separate lives. Except that she has always been in love Luke and only his sister knew. Well finally they get together and it’s beautiful and I love this book!
Shane East is incredibly sexy as Luke and Clara Corbell has an amazing voice!

A feel-good story!

Loved this tender sexy story by Louise Bay and told perfectly by Shane East and Clare Corbett. I love all of Louise Bay so this was pure pleasure to listen to. I could listen to Shane East endlessly. Clare Corbett has just the right sultry and sweet tones for her role.

Not my most enjoyable read.
Obviously Shane and Clare did a great job narrating it!
Chapter 26 is missing- where they tell haven about them being together. Chapter 27 just repeated twice!
