Publisher's summary

Tira's dinosaurs now have foes that can match their might.

The Amedian's betrayal has rocked the world, and the revelation of their ultimate weapon nearly spelled Tira's doom. As the last surviving dungeon in the kingdom, Tira now finds herself overrun by adventurers and soldiers looking to increase their strength for the coming war.

She barely has time to deal with that, however.

The dead dungeons have left entities that will break containment at any moment, Tira has to contend with a newborn core that is trying to hold in Refinael, and Tira is the only being with bigger concerns than Amedian dragons. And still, in her depths, the now-active Summoning Gate stirs, and the horror it unleashed runs through the Lowerlands.

Some problems are too large even for dinosaurs.

Fun Story Heading in an Odd Direction

Book one was surprisingly engaging, as is much of this book. The wow factor definitely increased, especially with the introduction of dinosaur mutations and hybrids. But as it neared the end, a distinct direction change began. The resulting shift is predictable, but it does provide for some intriguing possibilities.

Annie Ellicott is as skilled at storytelling as Jeff Hays, and both provide brilliant voice work. Justin Thomas James pitched in as well with some fun characters.

Where chapter 22

I really like this series but I was really annoyed that where chapter 22 is its a repeat of chapter 21. Especially since I don't offen have the ebook if I buy a audiobook with a credit. So the missing chapter forced me to have the ebook to know what happened in chapter 22. I hope this is corrected soon but I really like this and want to enjoy it in full.

good start but the end

I liked the book and was looking forward to finishing it. but the end of the book rapidly drained my interest . I'm at the last hour of the book the climax and... I just don't can't be bothered to finish it.

Fun concept, poorly written

Every conversation in this book feels so trite. It's written like a DM's first D&D campaign - a ridiculous amount of exposition, people having knowledge in the most convenient way possible, every conflict happening immediately followed by "that's impossible!" followed by immediately figuring it out.

Even despite all of that, it would still be tolerable if not for the main character being written as the most intentionally obnoxious, overdramatic, know-it-all, over explaining, roundabout speaking, fake feeling personality and every bit of dialogue between her and anyone else being painfully cringeworthy.

The only times this book becomes moderately enjoyable is during the few intermissions that have nothing to do with the MC.

Amazing then threw it all away

I loved this story, and I ended up binging the first two books very quickly. This one had me engrossed from the start. I love the characters And the plot it set up, but then suddenly near the end It's like everything just took a different direction.

Right as the story was reaching the climax of multiple story threads that I was incredibly interested in, It started setting up this crossover event.
In order to do that it started forcing these sudden changes. It completely took me out of the story and I ended up losing interest right as it reached the point I was most looking forward to.

I won't say you shouldn't read the book because it's very entertaining, just know that if you think a crossover event showing up out of nowhere for a bunch of other series would bother you, then I wouldn't. However if you are a fan of the author's other books or you can look past it I think this book is amazing and really builds up on the previous book.

I am buying book 3 immediately.

Loved the demon voice. So creepy. I do wish they would add dino roars instead of roaring voice actors but it still hit home. Amazing voice acting. I like that they actually teach about the dinosaurs a bit. Jeff Hayes strikes again.

Good for a great laugh!

This book is even funnier than the first. I love how the characters interact and grow. It’s been great to listen to them discover new things and work together.

The system info still makes my head hurt more often than not and I’m still not fond of the different genres that seem to be mixed together. But the book overall is fantastic. I can’t wait to read book 3 and see how this turns out!

Keep it coming

This installment begins to expand on what the first book introduced.

Here’s what to expect:
- More Gear
- Mounts
- Dungeon creativity
- A master and apprentice dynamic between Tira and the newcomer
-Drama
-A nod to attack on titan which was fun.

Overall I’m happy with the pacing and direction the story is going. Time will tell where we end up

I lost even more interest

I started off the series based on a litrpg group recommendation. The first book was interesting but it didn’t hold my attention. I figured I would continue with the series but I enjoyed this one even less. I didn’t even want to finish the last 15 mins because I didn’t care what happened. The narrators are fantastic as always.

Good

I found this book to be a really great sequel. I was drawn into the story just like the last book, and I feel the third book is going to be even better then the previous ones. The narration was amazing, and props to the author for making such a good series.

Taking this dugeon core story to another level

If you liked the first audiobook, you will definitely enjoy Pride. The story develops to a much deeper level and reallybsets it up for the third. The addition of a third voice actor, really helps to keep it clear what is happening and Justin is a really high quality addition, adding lots of range and character to the voices.

Superb listen!

I first listened to Pride when it was released. and loved it. it stood alone without issue. I wasn't left confused not having read Wrath, returning to this now that I have however... It stands just as strong!

The story continues in interesting ways, expanding on hints dropped in Wrath. Alex Raizman does a great job mixing multiple action scenes and viewpoints that happen in tandem, bouncing between two or three fight scenes in a way that keeps them separate and understandable.

Annie is a delight to listen to narrating, giving heart to a sapient dungeon core. Jeff returning as Zeke just makes me happy, I can never hear enough of that voice with his personality. Justin joins the pair in this giving his range of voices to new characters.

If you listened to wrath this will not disappoint, and if you haven't. Well... you should go listen to it, but this works as a great stand alone.

A strong sequal

Man, I loved this book. I even consider it better than the first book.

just six words is all it takes to see why this is worth listening to, dinosaurs, sass, humor & mild existential dread

It's good but first was better for pacing.

Pacing and build up are the only things that feel rushed in this book compared to the first book.
this book feels like it was a bit stuck in which way it wanted to go. Build an epic dinosaur dungeon or fight dungeon killing dragons or fight and save the planet from the void things that break reality like a twig and do this all in a week or two while your still a newborn dungeon. It just feels a bit rushed and all over the place and dealing with alot of plot problems all at once rather then letting it evolve through out the books. Still good tho and book three will be a roaring book. Soundbooth dose another amazing job and make it come to life. Will still buy the third. Just be ready listeners and buckle in for this book.
