Ronin Eating Soup

My first book by Harmon Cooper. Started off with an interesting fight and topped off with a picnic. Overall, an interesting introduction to a half-human, half-demon protagonist. Story might or not work for some. Guessing we have to read the other books in the series to see how the characters grows and deals with the unique world around him.

Mikael Naramore did a great job on the narration.

it's ok

my 3 stars isn't to bash it. it's just ok in my opinion. the pacing is too slow for me as well. the story has interesting parts. but I need a bit more. too much feels held back for the amount of content that's here. I don't have any problems with it other than not enough and it's pacing. it just doesn't have much to stand out. maybe that's in the next books, but the author should have picked up the pace maybe about half way at least and the ending would make me more curious.

Worst Narration!

I thought the overall synopsis sounded ok so I gave it a download. I Clcould barely get through chapter 1 with this narrator. He was absolutely cringy and it felt like listening to a high school English teacher slowly trying to read to his class.

Good mix of story and action.

I really enjoyed the story. There was a constant stream of new characters and action. Ready for book 2.

Like Peeling a Huge Apple....took forever

So the narrator was on point and did well. The story just drug on and on and on. Takes forever to get to the point and the character still are not completely fleshed out by the end of this book. Eventually you want to get to the point to where you can really sink your in the sweetness of a book. For me it just took 3/4 of the book to finally become enjoyable. But once it did I was into it.
