From New York Times bestselling author Brian Freeman, Photograph is an emotional cold case mystery of hidden identities and startling twists—perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Mary Kubica, and Freida McFadden.

Shannon Wells is a private investigator who helps women with nowhere else to go. Last year, a woman named Faith Selby came to Shannon with a strange request: Find out who I really am.

Shannon soon discovered that Faith was hiding a whole other life, but was unable to penetrate the web of mystery the woman had built around her past. Now Faith is dead. The only clue to who she was and why she was murdered is an old photograph of a little girl in the rain outside a Midwestern motel.

The hunt for answers takes Shannon from the hot beaches of Florida to a remote small town in Michigan as she peels away layer after layer of a shocking cold case that has rippled violently into the present. With each secret she uncovers, the danger around her grows—and forces Shannon to confront the demons hiding in her own past.

That’s what went through my head when it all came together! Masterful storytelling, January Lavoy is the best voice actress out there. In fact, she’s the reason I chose this book because her voice just pulls you in. However, after listening to this story I am hooked on this author. Brian Freeman wrote a wonderful book and I can’t wait to listen to more. This book is… OMG! MUST LISTEN!

OMG! OMG! OMG!

Entertaining from start to finish — even with a few eye-rolling tangents along the way. The twists were solid and the characters felt fully developed and believable. January LaVoy is one of the best narrators in the business and she delivers again here. The author clearly has an active imagination and knows how to build a story. I’ll definitely pick up another book by him.

Some eye rolling moments but…

A riveting tale with mystical flourishes. Heartwarming in a different sort of way. An excellent story, well written and fascinating. I highly recommend.

Brian Freeman once again weaves a masterful tale filled with complexity, suspense, and emotional depth. Photograph is no exception. His attention to character detail makes each one come alive in the reader’s mind, drawing you deeper into the story with every chapter.

While I prefer books without profanity, I appreciate Freeman’s judicious use of language. He avoids crude words, and I don’t recall him using the “f” word in any of his recent novels — something I greatly respect.

January LaVoy is the icing on the cake. Her mesmerizing narration and seamless transitions between characters bring the story vividly to life. Her voice perfectly matches the tone and emotion of each scene, making the listening experience unforgettable.

Maximum intrigue. Minimal profanity.

I’ve been listening to books by Brian Freeman - enjoying them all…and this is his best book yet.

With all of his books I’d never thought “he can write women”, but with this book it hit me that he really can write women well in the first few chapters and it really made this book wonderful!!! I hope he writes sequels to this book - I would love that!

I found this book because I was looking for novels narrated by the amazing January Lavoy, and I’m so glad I did find it because it is really good with so many little mysterious storylines that don’t seem to tie together, but it all came together beautifully by the end.Of course this narrator could probably make a phonebook interesting, but this novel was really captivating, and I plan to enjoy other novels by the same author. Highly recommend!

Intriguing!
