Resumen del Editor

From bestselling author Brian Freeman comes an explosive new psychological thriller that pushes the limits of reality as we know it.

One rainy night, the unthinkable happens: Dylan Moran’s car plunges off the road into a raging river, his beautiful wife drowning as he struggles to shore.

In the aftermath, through his grief, Dylan experiences sudden, strange visions: wherever he goes, he’s haunted by glimpses of himself. Dylan initially chalks it up to trauma, but that changes when he runs into a psychiatrist who claims he’s her patient. She says he has been undergoing a unique hypnotherapy treatment built on the idea that with every choice, he creates an infinite number of parallel universes.

Now those parallel universes are unlocked--and Dylan’s doppelgänger has staked a claim to his world. Can Dylan use these alternate realities to get a second chance at the life that was stolen from him? Or will he lose himself…to himself?

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Clever plotting matches the well-developed characters. Freeman is sure to win new fans with this page-turner.” (Publishers Weekly)

“It is so rare to have a psychological thriller that not only completely succeeds on that account, but also plays with your heartstrings, leaving behind an incredibly memorable reading experience. Infinite is something special, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.” (Bookreporter)

Powerfully thrilling and thought-provoking

Phenomenal!!! So captivating I couldn't stop listening, and I went through the whole book in like two days. The narrator was perfect for the role and did a great job. I'm big into multiverse theories, and this audiobook got me pondering some deep concepts while keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I'm very glad I happened to get this book. It's a real masterpiece. Highly recommended!!!

tightly woven

Great narration.
Tightly woven. Hard to put down. Each section is integral to the story. Not a word is wasted.

Confusing Psychological Thriller

In the immortal words of Weird Al Yankovich, "I think we're a clone now." This book is about Dillon Moran, whose parents, best friend and wife all died violent deaths. It also concerns a theory of infinite parallel universes. My problem is that I didn't like any of the Dillon Morans that populated this story, and I couldn't wrap my head around the parallel universe idea. The Chicago settings were true, and the narration was excellent. The ending was also good, with a Twilight Zone twist. I just didn't care for the main character or his choices. If you're better at suspending disbelief, you'll probably like this book more than I did.

Could Not Stop Reading this Intriguing Book

I rarely review audio books, but audiobook fans deserve to hear about this book. Normally I listen to True Crime Books only. Found this on the Daily Deal and was curious. Like other reviewers for me it was slow early on. If I'd spent a credit I would have considered returning it; though I've never used that option previously. Ultimately the story was so suspenseful I would just keep listening when I returned from my daily walk. I found I didn't want to leave the characters behind until the next day.
A few reviewers complained about the length. Didn't seem long to me I was so invested in the lives it flew by. Others found it predictable and didn't like the ending. I found the ending satisfying, though there were times I would doubt there was going to be an acceptable conclusion that would leave me content.
The narrator was superb. I didn't find myself concentrating on any little irritation at all. It was like he was just talking to me and telling the story.
I intend to search out other books by both the author and the reader. I really can't say enough positive things about both.
One of the best purchases I've made on audible in my long membership. Highly recommend this story if you have any interest in psychological thrillers at all.....and actually if you don't, but you enjoy a great premise and a wonderful tale.

Down the quantum rabbit hole!!!!

Infinite by Brian Freeman is an intense novel, and one centered around the "Many Worlds Theory" or parallel universes where all our decisions are played out and create a brand new universe for each possible decision. And underpinning all of this is another theory called quantum entanglement where the different actions in these different universes are somehow tied together and can affect each other, often in real physical ways and also in a subconscious way, which introduces us to another scientific theory of quantum consciousness or the quantum mind.

The story starts with a betrayal and a tragic accident that sends our main character Dylan down the quantum rabbit hole when a radical therapist introduces him to a controversial therapy wrapped up in quantum theory.

This is a deep story involving what makes us unique individuals, and one that even makes you question reality itself. The story sends you in one direction only to snap you back to another path, as Dylan himself personally grows from each path taken, and like the old TV show Quantum Leap, each path is part of his own growth to make it back home mentally whole again and a better person for the journey.

A solid 5 out of 5 star read.

Well done!

This book was not at all what I expected. It grabs your attention coming and going. This is typically not anything like I would read yet I couldn't put it down after the first page. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent

Did not realize sci-fi doppelganger detective books suit my fancy. Looking forward to the next titles by these authors.

Decent story but not captivating

Overall, the plot is fine. I wasn’t particularly captivated by it and as such it took me a while to actually get t through the whole thing. If you’re a fan of the author, it merits a listen.
