What is real? What is truth? What can we know?

What should we believe? What should we do and why?

Is there a God? Can we know him?

Do Christian doctrines make sense?

Can we believe in God in the face of evil?

These are fundamental questions that any thinking person wants answers to. These are questions that philosophy addresses. And the answers we give to these kinds of questions serve as the foundation stones for constructing any kind of worldview.

In Philosophical Foundations for a Christian Worldview, J. P. Moreland and William Lane Craig offer a comprehensive introduction to philosophy from a Christian perspective. In their broad sweep, they introduce listeners to the principal subdisciplines of philosophy, including epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of science, ethics, and philosophy of religion. They do so with characteristic clarity and incisiveness. Arguments are clearly outlined, and rival theories are presented with fairness and accuracy. Here is a lively and thorough introduction to philosophy for all who want to know reality.

One of the best books I have ever read period. It compresses an entire philosophy and apologetics degree into 39 hours of pleasant listening

Absolutely fantastic!

Occasionally esoteric but ultimately very good. This book addresses many of the primary objections to the Christian faith with both simplicity and rigor. I would highly recommend to anyone with the curiosity and stamina.

Long thorough and worthwhile.

If you’re looking for a well-rounded introduction, this is the one. Don’t be afraid to jump in.

Very useful soup to nuts

Moreland and Craig do an excellent job of reasoning through tough questions that Christians and seekers of the faith face. Be advised: this listen needs to be accompanied by a pen, and some notepaper.

Refreshingly thorough and true to the Bible.

This was a sadly superficial and apologetic treatment of Christian philosophy. Rather than a deep, even handed portrayal of philosophical ideas, it dealt with surface-level ideas and treated opposing perspectives with scorn.

But putting aside the obvious Cognitive bias at play in this book, the philosophical notions put forth are fraught with circularity, bias, preferential treatment, dubious premises, wishful thinking and on and on. For example, the notion that, as long as we feel that we’ve experienced God, we are justified in believing that we’ve experienced him. This sort of lack of critical thinking is replete in this book.

If you’re looking for support for your Christian faith and you want real, tough answers, investing 40 hours in this book will only disappoint you.

"A book about apologetic foundations, not philosophical foundations."

Really, really bad narration. I think this is probably a great book. May try it on Kindle.

Unlistenable
