The second our eyes connected, I felt the shift in the air. The crackle of fire igniting between us. He was dark, dangerous, and secretive. He came into my life like a storm, ripping apart everything I believed in, everything I thought I knew. With his mischievous smirk, stunning looks, and alluring behavior, I should’ve ran as far away from him as I could. But I was stupid. I trapped myself in his web. I thought I was safe with him. Safe in his arms, safe from a past that refused to let go. Turns out Christian Russo was the past I was running from, and my first mistake was ever thinking I could escape him.
This is a dark stalker-mafia romance. It contains adult themes, and material that might be triggering to some listeners.

The dialogue was really cringy at times. It reminded me a little bit of the line in "10 things I hate about you" where she goes "I want you, I need you, oh baby oh baby" 😂
Unfortunately, I don't think either batterie was right for the role. It felt slightly boring and monotonous. For a book that had a decent amount of suspense, the narration felt all too calm the entire time.
The female narrator didn't quite mail the male part. It was way too breathy and drawn out. Her voice sounds like she's trying hard to hold back laughter the entire time. Not to mention, she draws out the endings of her sentences like "I was waiting for the police to come-uh" and "do you know his last name-uh" it just made the book hard to get through.
The storyline was there.

the stalking part and the obsession reminds me of Zade and Ryat a little bit because they both would fight for their girls.
When it came to Shawn she gave off Adeline and Blakely vibes because they are both strong minded when it came to standing up for things they believed it.
I always love a story that reminds me of other characters that I love and so far from reading this it didn't disappoint me at all I honestly loved every part of it
loved it from the beginning

Type: Dual narration
Anastasia Watley is a good narrator but it did take a few moments for me to get into her voice. I really liked how she changes inflection between character which help keep the characters separate. Curt Bonnem has a very specific voice and narration style which is noticeable but I'm not sure it worked for the main male character.
STORY
FMC: Siân Guiliani
MMC: Christian Russo
This book is not what i expected and the character were a little superficial. I could see the appeal to a story like this but it wasn't my cup of tea, which is why i gave it 3 stars.
This book has the romance, the sexual tension, and the stalking in a books that i like but it all fell flat with the repetitiveness of the story and it felt dragged. this story felt like it has all the write themed but wasn't used in well together. Also Sian was so blind to so much when it was so obvious and it really felt like she stayed in situation because she knew one day it will have to end.
I don't really see the need for a second book and will not continue this series.
"mafia" romance and definitely has dark themes
