Enzo is deliciously cruel!

I don’t know where to begin. I enjoyed reading this book, but feel like it moved very slow. Great story line though! I have a feeling that this was just setting up the story for the next book. Just like the first book in this duet (the 3rd in the series), this book also ended on a cliffhanger. The romance parts were such a slow burn though… Every time something started, I got excited, only to be like “ugghhhh why did it stop?!” Finally when it actually happened, it was hot!🔥

Starting Savage Vow now. I need to know what happens!!

The FMC can be a little too stupid at times, such as when she internally freaks out because, "I don't know who he thinks I am", when she knows exactly who he thinks she is because it's who she SAID she is, but besides moments like that, this is an enjoyable story.

This story has a lot of action and a lot of drama. This is a dark romance, so do not read unless you are okay with a MMC that can be cruel to the FMC.

I enjoyed the progression of the romance, the gradual development of feelings.

My review was going to include something about not being sure if I would want to read the next book, but apparently, I already have. I'm not sure why my review of the next book, which is a continuation of this couple, didn't say anything about not understanding their past or feeling like something was missing, but it didn't. As I read it years ago, I have no recollection of anything that happened during that book.

Back to this book...I just didn't like it. Not the story, not the characters, not their [partial] relationship, and definitely not the audiobook. I couldn't tell what the guys accent was supposed to be (started out sounding Russian, then maybe Hispanic? but I never got Italian until it was his grandfather talking) and his female voice isn't great.

Entertaining not Amazing

Ok story- not great. The first two books of this series are better. The narration is a bit hard to enjoy. The story is interesting enough that I finished it and will listen to the next book. Worth a credit? Hmm only if you don't have a better option. Plenty of other J L Beck books that are way better. Definitely worth listening for free though!

I like the mafia stories a lot, but then it usually has something to do with drugs. Then it changes the story around a lot.
