Publisher's summary

A fearless warrior. An implacable traitor. The path toward a destiny only a god foresaw.

Fel'annár is a gifted immortal warrior embarking on his first patrol into the Deep Forest. Half-Silvan, half-Alpine, he battles the enemy from without, and the prejudice from within. But he learns more than just warfare when an arcane power begins to emerge, one he cannot control.

While friendships are forged, a destiny unfolds, one that is tied to a past he knows nothing about. For others, though, it is only a matter of time before the truth is revealed, and the danger becomes real.

If you love high fantasy worlds with compelling characters on a dangerous mission, you can't miss Path of a Novice, book one in the epic fantasy series The Silvan Saga.

Worth a listen

This is a good book. The plot is enthralling and the characters rich. It's a story that once picked up is not easily put down.
the one problem is that the author jumps point of view a little chaotically at times which can make certain scenes confusing.

I really liked the book. the one thing I hade trubble with is the names .... the names are similar and long and many caricatures have 2 or 3 manes so you have to pay attention to understand who it talking to who

Great Book!

I had already read this book and love the series, listening to it I would say that there are a couple voices I dont particularly like. Amareth's voice sounds like a very old lady and being that elves are immortal I do not believe that she would sound like that considering what I surmise her age would be. That being said I feel that is how it always is when you have previously read a book before listening to it because you already have preconcieved how they will sound so this is still an amazing book to listen to and would highly reccomend it to everyone!

Good story, but below is a rant about characters names

I liked the story and narration was good, but by god the characters’ names in this book suck, it can get really confusing. The main characters are fine but I could not remember one side characters name.
(Spoilerish)
There is a part in the book some side characters die and it’s meant to be sad but i felt nothing cause I don’t even know who they were due to the confusing names.

Great start for new fantasy series!

I really like this book! It def set the stage for an epic fantasy series. I am downloading book 2 as I write this review in hopes it will continue as “I can’t put it down” book. Truly, there is Nothing better than a good fantasy book, so glad I took a chance
On this one as I had not heard of it before. It’s worth the credit - don’t hesitate ! Narration was on point as well.

Delightfully engaging!

A mystical new world has been created by RK Lander and it’s fantastic! This sets the stage beautifully and leaves me yearning for the next book! I was wonderfully entertained and my attention had been grabbed! I look forward to the next book.

The narrator is absolutely amazing!! His voice is soothing and never got shrill like most do (and why I avoid female narrators). His different accents and voices truly helped encompass each character and brought the story to life! I’ll be looking for more books with Daniel Thomas May reading!!
Side note:: Nick Podel is also a wonderful narrator and very similar to Mr May

Fantastic

The last half of the book is indeed epic and SO glad I spent the credit and a book with a fraction of reviews. Solid and really can’t wait for more 👍🏼👍🏼

Wow. My new favorite series

This is a wonderful series. The characters seem so real and the narrator makes it even more so.
I have listen to all three books and was just as enthrall with all the books as I was with the first.
The narrator does such a fabulous job that he breathes life into each character.
Looking foward to narration of book 4 Return of the warlord...read by the same narrator of course

Worthwhile and at times exciting

I enjoyed this book and will continue the series. Some very interesting characters. However the story tends to linger on certain aspects not very important. The author also seems to draw certain facets of the story over and over. This is a good story about elves and love the in depth descriptions of their appearances.
