Publisher's summary

Would you become an outlaw to maintain your moral code?

Black operations killer Will Slater has a choice to make: continue putting his life on the line for his country, despite the unrest brewing below his stoic exterior...or get out. Should he muster up the courage to tell his employers how he feels, accept that he’s rapidly approaching his physical and mental limits, and ask permission to step away from his role as a human wrecking ball? But he knows they won’t let him out, not with the state secrets swimming around in his head. There's exceptions the upper echelon simply cannot allow. Slater's been a vigilante once. He knows the pain of isolation, the stress that comes from making an enemy of the shadow world.

And that’s avoiding the real dilemma. If he goes, Jason King must choose between the woman he loves and his brother-in-arms.

Strap in for a white-knuckle thrill ride you won’t forget....

Fantastic!!

Growth and maturity of purpose, changing goals and lives. Exciting, detailed and expansive!! Matt Rogers has been permanently added to my short roster of favorite authors. Narrator Kenerly is fantastic!! Can't wait for the next one.

Good but not as good as the previous books

This book is good as are all books in this series this far but not as good as the previous books. The book didn't have as much action.

An exciting story, but...

Mr Rogers would do well to buy a thesaurus; he is overly-fond of misusing the verb 'skewer'. He loses one star for the freqent use of unwanted, profane expletives.
Mr Kenerly should invest in elocution lessons.
He loses one star for his very distracting habit of pronouncing words which end in 'ng' with a hard 'g' at the end. This is especially irritating when he pronounces King as 'Kinguh'.
Also, why does Audible use artists who have not read the books for which they illustrate the cover art? It seems a bit foolish and deceptive.😕

King & Slatter

Great story. Makes one wonder. So far this is an excellent series. Keep up the good work. Hard work requires great entertainment to refuel! PS: I never give out 5 Stars. Gives authors something to work for.😎👍🏖

Too many holes in the story for me

Avoiding spoilers.... I liked the book and I get why the writer did what he did but I think it could have been written a little differently. The ending seemed a little rushed.
