Publisher's summary

Our skies are filled with Trojan horses....

“The real UFO story must encompass all of the many manifestations being observed. It is a story of ghosts and phantoms and strange mental aberrations; of an invisible world that surrounds us and occasionally engulfs us; of prophets and prophecies, and gods and demons. It is a world of illusion and hallucination where the unreal seems very real, and where reality itself is distorted by strange forces which can seemingly manipulate space, time, and physical matter - forces that are almost entirely beyond our powers of comprehension.”

When this work was first published in 1970, it shredded the then-trendy nuts-and-bolts extraterrestrial hypothesis for UFOs in favor of one that linked UFOs to a variety of paranormal and supernatural phenomena that have taken place throughout history. Keel was one of the first to note that the UFO phenomenon appears in different disguises - and that one could not begin to decipher this great mystery without first taking into account its many and varied deliberate deceptions. Other than a few corrections, this Anomalist Books edition essentially follows the original 1970 edition of UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse.

About the author: John A. Keel (March 25, 1930-July 3, 2009) was an American journalist and influential ufologist best known as the author of The Mothman Prophecies. In the 1950s, he spent time in Egypt, India, and the Himalayas investigating snake-charming cults, the Indian rope trick, and the legendary yeti, an adventure that culminated in the publication of his first book, Jadoo. In the mid-1960s, he took up investigating UFOs and assorted forteana and published his first knockout UFO book, UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse.

Keel Greatness, & Narrator *Is* Fine

UFOs are obviously real, though it's doubtful they're from outer space. John Keel was a great storyteller and entertainer, the only likable figure in the spook-filled world of UFOs and cryptozoology. He was a real character, and not at all a kook or total phony. His Mothman material is legendary. Don't miss that. Keel fans, Operation Trojan Horse has more of the J. Keel madness you know and love. Narration is emphatic and sincere, perfect for the material.

Mind blowing!

Loved this book! As usual, Keel manages to put into words what I cannot regarding the Phenomenon.

Keel was ahead of his time

it is surprising to compare Keel's work and conclusions with the current direction of thought into Bigfoot and UFOs. Keel was ahead of his time. Good book.

if you ponder UFOs this book is a must

A classic work of Mr. Keel. Well written and presented, this is must have information and/or perspective if you are pondering UFOs/UAPs. I would also recommend picking up the book Birthright by Timothy Alberino.

This narrator is horrible.

The voices and accents are not only bad, they border on offensive.
But the content is fantastic. With folks still clinging to the ETH and hollering about "ancient aliens" Keel's perspective and scholarship are still as refreshing today as they were 40 years ago.
A classic and a must read.

More Relevant Than Ever

Keel writes that he’s essentially “proven” a lot of his interpretations, but not only is the evidence not there, I often don’t even follow his logic. Still, his description of the “phenomenon” as a trickster, as something more complicated than biological aliens has more cachet than ever.

I also found the narration to be too much. While it seems to match Keel’s feelings, mocking the witnesses and their messages seemed like a low blow against people who have been through difficult experiences.

Great book on the subject of the phenomenon.

No matter what your current view is on the flying saucer phenomenon, this book and the odd stories within, will make you rethink it.

The realness of Keel’s journalism

Such a great book in our history! This is a Trojan Horse classic. If you’re studying the subject, this should be a must. Books like so allow us to grasp the concept about ourselves and the Universe more, maybe even a different outlook all together. I will definitely be reading, again and then again since there is heavy knowledge in this book you can’t wrap your head around just reading once which is the beauty of it!

Brilliant and insightful. Well narrated.

Not sure why other reviewers didn’t like the narrator - he did a fine job. John Keel’s work is extraordinary. It should be mandatory reading for anyone interested in the UFO Phenomenon.
