Publisher's summary

Somebody once told a joke.

A man ran in place all his life. He worked a job he didn't love for people he couldn't stand. But at the end of the day, the number in his bank account went up.

That man got a second chance at life. He woke up in another world, one full of adventures and romances and monsters and gods. And floating above his head, he saw the number "1".

So what did he say?

"Gosh, I better make the number go up."

Not today. Not for this old soul. Reborn as a beast of battle meant to live a short life and die screaming, Garek refuses. He puts the madness of skills and levels behind him and sets out to found a little farmstead. He grows crops. Maybe someday he'll get a pig and have bacon.

It's a shame the world won't let him be. It's a shame that the warmongers and level-grinders hate nothing more than a soul at peace.

He put down his sword for a plowshare, but when trouble comes calling, he'll pick it up again.

You can't beat this slice-of-life Isekai litRPG!

I really enjoyed listening to One Moo'r Plow. I love slice-of-life adventure series and this one is great. With great characters and farming, you simply can't beat it. That is until you can't ignore the monsters, and farm any longer, then you hafta use all your experience to fight the monsters, to not only save your friends but the world as well. Garek is not only fighting but he's making potions too. And setting up a great ending for Garek the minotaur, in order tackle his next book and planting season.

Here's a humorous quote I found to share:

"...but that’s ‘cause humans are everywhere here.” She grimaced a little. “Not ta’ be an asshole or anythin’, but they’re kinda like pests. Short lives, breed a lot of kids, spread, and stick their noses in everything. Don’t matter if you kill a few, there’s always more to take their place. Kinda like bigger, pink goblins.”

Surprisingly Great

A wonderful mix of slice of life and action. The MC desires peace but he must fight to keep it. It’s nice to see a character in the body of something not used often in stories.

A lot of fun to listen to. Enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Really good and exciting fight sequences, likeable characters, I enjoyed the main character a bunch. I think it is a clever world. The narrator is great. I am looking forward to more.

Took a minute to get used to narrator

It took a minute to get used to the narrator. He has a very different voice from others that I’ve heard, but he’s really good at different trading between characters. The story was pretty good and very interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed that and there’s plenty of meat left over at the end, that you really excited to listen to the next story.

Also, the story gets a little poetic at times, which can sort of take care of the immersion, but it helps to stabilize the Minotaur character

OmG I love this book!

I was pleasantly surprised by this story, as it has been a long time since I have truly enjoyed a book. It rekindled my love for reading and reminded me of the excitement and adventure that comes with exploring a new story. The main character, the minotaur, was particularly captivating to me, as I have always been fascinated by this mythical creature. The way the author incorporated the minotaur into a farming setting was unique and added an interesting twist to the story. It was refreshing to see the minotaur portrayed in a different light, not as a fierce and dangerous creature, but as a hardworking farmer. This unexpected element added depth to the character and made me root for him even more. Overall, the minotaur farming aspect was my favorite part of the story and made it stand out from other books I have read. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling and unique reading experience.

A fantastic read

An amazing read/listen from start to finish. a near perfect blend of slice of life farming and battle. the only issue I have is the way Keeble pronounces Minotaur, it's odd but in no way diminishes the experience. I can't wait for the next book.

Bad Title, Good Book

Well, I guess I can't really fault that dreadful title because it did rope me in to check out the book. At any rate, this is a surprisingly good book with likable, well developed characters. I especially liked the main character's personality, which was that great but difficult to find balance of kindness and rage, of civility and berserker. He was really well crafted. The narrator did a wonderful job too, and was perfect for the role. He was a bit hard to understand for a few minutes until I got used to him, and he was simply not someone you want doing female voices, but overall he was a good fit. There were some points in the story when I grew weary of the tedium of farming or the tedium of fighting, but at least the book bounced between the two often enough to keep things moving. Overall, a good firist showing. I will definitely check out any sequels that might be forthcoming.
