An unknown gem.

I'd not seen nor had this series recommended to me before and I thought I'd take a chance when it finally showed up in my recommendations. I'm happy I did. The atmosphere and world were so immersive I couldn't stop listening. The narrator had me nervous at the beginning but he was amazing. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Not cyberpunk, but good

Very well written and well narrated. Totally original world and story. I was drawn in and kept interested from page one to the end. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of urban fantasy/ LitRPG. However, this is not cyberpunk. All technology is magic based, that's fantasy, not cyberpunk. Again, it's a very good book, just be aware that the title is misleading.

The underdog makes it

Crummy parents crummy life looks after the siblings keep going achieves his dream. A life blows up again and he’s got a crawl out well this time at least he’s not alone.

A whole lot of something

Absolutely. Down-to-earth, dirty dark humor main character has no true social skills or intelligence. He's got love for his siblings and a whole lot of kick a$$

Fun and hungry!

This was a very fun listen, but presented only one issue for me. The authors penchant for food description was like smelling the kitchen while waiting at an empty table; while the narrators ability to deliver the descriptions like a feast being deliverd to that table, only for the diner to look at their plate and find the table is empty. I was HUNGRY, it's entirely possible I snacked more while listening to this book than any other I've heard. Love it!
