Darkness seeps deeper into the world. The gods can only watch from afar. Time is running out.

Jim and his friends found a way to stop the evil infesting the leadership of the Empire, but the shadows of the world are not all cast by the demon incursion. There's plenty of darkness already dwelling within the corrupted heart of the Empire.

One of the team goes missing, and Jim has to find them before it's too late. They have a chance to reach the Western Province before the nox infection spreads, but having the entire team is paramount to their success. They'll have to find a way to come together, or risk the Empire sinking completely into the darkness.

No pressure, it's just the fate of the world.

This was still a good book, but, There was a little more lazy feel in the editing on this book.

I hope to read another one soon. But I also hope that it gets back to its original amount of clarity…

Gripes: And a few less of the same joke. It’s one thing to have a single repetitive joke but it’s another when it feels like it’s just repeating the same internal dialogue. The time on the ocean, it was dragging time out occasionally. And then the final battle was just… Well lazy. There wasn’t consistent information about where his companions were, tons of drawn out scene, explanations in the middle of a move, and it was more frustrating than well managed. The development of the friends stalled a bit too. The author has a habit of glossing over the nitty gritty and it made a sloppy feel this time.

Still a good story, but…
