Publisher's summary

Once a god, now a target.

Darius wakes surrounded by blood. Most of his mind has been stolen, and the dark figure that took it wants the rest.

Caught in a centuries-old war between the human empire and fiery rakkan invaders, he soon learns his fearsome powers have made him an enemy to many.

Unable to tell friend from foe, he must fight to escape the one hunting him, the one who seeks to turn him into a mindless puppet.

His only allies are his panther and the captivating but callous Alexandra, who promises to restore him to former glory. But can she be trusted?

Is he ready to discover the truth of who he was, and why he's wanted?

Great Beginnings

The beginning story in this series is great. The narrator was awesome. I really loved all the characters except for the MC. He came across as whiny and immature. Except for the very end. I'm going to continue this series because it is good.

Good start to a series

There's a lot going on in this book. The author use historical figures to tie in a good fantasy story. My only complaint is although, there's plenty of action, sometimes the story stalled. Overall a good listen though.

A Good Tale

This is a well done story, following a powerful warrior who just lost his memories and some of his ability. As we go through the tale, we can see and even share some of his confusion about the world around him. There's plots, conflict, and cruelty around him, as he tries to figure out who to trust and how to become the man he once was. Also an interesting take on magic in this world. Promising first book in what could be an epic series. Recommended for those interested in the genre.

Narration is competent with good production value. For me though, there was just a tiny something that seemed to pull me out of the story at times. I don't know if it's how much time is spent speaking in a sort of growl or something else entirely. It's not something that would keep me from listening though.

At war even with himself

Darius has lost his memory and everyone but his arch enemies wants to kill him. They just want to finish sucking out his memory to discover a wealth of ore. Not able to trust anyone he must rely on people lying to him to to find the truth. Total Recall meets Warcraft in this exciting and well Narrated story. I was given a free copy of this audio. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Overall Fantastic!

To start this might have been the best narrations that I've heard. Great range for the Male and female characters but it was just so well done for all of the epic moments in the story. The voices that were delivered felt so real and full of emotion. It felt like I was really there.

Aside from the narration, the story was incredibly well written. It reminded me of the movie "Momento" where the MC has no memory of what's going on and what led him to this moment.

Overall, this was a very interesting book with a great ending that still left itself open to more in the books in the series.

A Great Listen

Just because you're saved, doesn't mean you're safe as Darius finds out. Saved by people he doesn't know or at least doesn't remember, Darius feels alone in the world except for his panther. He decides to trust those who have saved him, to help him kill the one that took his memories. An interesting plot and well written character enhance this story that will grab you and keep you listening long after you should have turned it off. Well worth the listen. Good Beginnings

Oblivion is a well told story with interesting characters and vibrant world building. Although the setup does take time to draw the reader in, it is, none-the-less, a powerful story. While definitely not perfect, this is an author to keep an eye on.
