Publisher's summary

The people we love are thieves. They steal our hearts. They steal our breath. They steal our sanity. And we let them. Over and over and over again.

They say you never forget your first love.

Mine was a homeless musician who wandered straight into my soul.

He was my first everything. And fourteen years later, I still can't get him out of my head.

He broke all my rules. He also broke my heart.

I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar. But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.

Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.

But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true.

We can't go back, but I want to. Back to the park. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.

I thought I knew everything about him. But I could not have been more wrong.

He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting.

And hoping.

Again.

Contains mature themes.

Book needs a Trigger Warning!!!!

This book took me months to finish. This book is exactly what a toxic relationship is. It deals with depression, mental illness, suicidal tendency, and substance abuse just to name a few. I've read and listened to a lot of romance including a few dark romance. I've never had a book make me feel as shitty as this book did. Even when they first met I had so many red sirens going off like run far away from him girl! The book is a constant wash rinse repeat of boy shows up, boy treats girl like crap, boy leaves with out a word for years, start shitty cycle all over again. All the while the girl is soooo in love and she can't possibly move on( brain washed twit). The book drags on and even when the two love interests interact it didn't make me happy. I had one small glimmer of hope in the book when I thought the girl was gonna move on but NOPE! shitty boy had to show back up and suck her in. This toxic relationship goes on for like 15+ years. Upset that it took till the end of the book before either one got any kind of counseling. Can't say that I was excited that they ended up together at the end either. Depressing, depressing, depressing.

I have enjoyed the authors previous books. Kinds scared to see what she puts out next though. If it goes anything like this one I won't punish myself and finish it.

OMG!! What a ride!

This story hit a little close to home. I have a family member with a mental illness and Blue's story parallels his in a lot of ways. The author ripped me apart, put me back, ripped me apart and put me back, over and over again. I had to walk away a few times. However, she handled the story beautifully and respectfully. The characters were amazing and painful to read at times. The story flowed perfectly but I always fought holding my breath when Blue would do whatever he was going to do next. Been there and it was painful. This is beautifully written and narrated. A must read.

TOO DEPRESSING AND WAY TOO LONG

I usually love books by Carian Cole and I had pre-ordered this lengthy listen in the hopes it would be everything I love.. but sadly that wasn’t the case. I didn’t think Jillian Macie’s narration was convincing portraying the deep voice of a troubled male. The relationship angst went on.. and on.. and on.. and on.. and on.. and well you get the drift and I’m mentally exhausted thinking and reflecting on it. It’s a rollercoaster of listen.. because I liked it.. then hated it, I was interested.. then thought would it never end, I initially liked the characters together.. then thought they were actually bad for each other.. and I wanted to stop listening.. but ended up doubling the speed instead to get to the HEA ending. However, I didn’t think I would have to wait until chapter forty-nine before I got a tentative glimpse of the light at the end of my.. sorry their, long dark tunnel of love.. but it was soon obliterated again by a tsunami of melancholy, heartache, mental health instabilities, insecurities and attempted suicide. So the HEA does eventually come.. but you’ll have to wait until chapter sixty-something before you can, at last, give a high five that you, and they, finally got there.

Worth a credit? Sadly no - this wasn’t for me and it’s left me feeling quite low. However, there was beauty within the fourteen years of insecurities, there were tender words of love and sex scenes too.. and I did feel their undying love for each other. Unfortunately, Aiden Snow’s narration giving the troubled hero’s POV was a mere drop in the endless ocean told from the heroine’s POV. I know I could’ve, and should’ve, stopped this listen early on.. but I like to get to the conclusion.. to the happy sigh.. to the contented feeling of a loved listen.. but unfortunately all I felt was overwhelming relief. But we are all different and maybe you’ll love it, feel deeply moved and give it 5 stars.

True Love through the storm

This book is a perfect example of true love through the storm of mental illness. It can also help anyone comprehend the strength, love, and dedication it takes to handle the ups and downs of love no matter the situation. I will forever cherish this book. Beautifully written Carian Cole.:)

Interesting listen

I loved the book when I read it. This isn’t a story for everyone, but if your empathetic and understanding that not every love story is cut and dry, then this is a tale (not a story, but an epic tale) for you. For me, the audiobook lends more clear emotion/intent that Carian Cole was writing into the scenes. Hearing the tone clarified some of my interpretations of scenes and made it an even better experience for me. So, possibly you are someone that didn’t like the book because you had a hard time understanding the intent and emotion of scenes—please try the audiobook! You may be surprised at the tale you find yourself spun in.

Original Book Review
Carian Cole wrote a blurb for her latest book release, No Tomorrow, in which she relays that there are people that we love that steal our hearts, breath, and sanity, but we allow them to do so over and over again. With each book release over the last few years, Cole has done just that for many of her enthusiastic followers. Personally, her characters have stolen my heart with their relatable backgrounds, my breath with the prospects of their futures, and sanity with their actions—and I keep coming back and allowing it to happen because the experience is always just that remarkable.
With her latest release, though, Carian Cole has really taken my mind hostage. I have zero doubts that I will find myself randomly thinking about this book while accomplishing some mundane task about two years from now. Rarely do books stick with me in such a way but I know that No Tomorrow is going to live in the folds of my memory for years to come. I know so because, in a way, we are all Piper & Blue in some form. No matter your background, there are tiny pieces of each of us found within these two characters and some of the experiences they trial through and overcome. A few of the topics may be viewed as taboo by some readers, but Cole avoids the potential for exploiting the taboo nature of the topics by injecting intense humanity into her characters and their hurdles. For example, the Hero of this tale is homeless and each of the characters struggle both directly and indirectly with addiction, mental illness, and major life changes that bring on a bevy of emotions. The topics are sensitive and angsty at times, and very well worth the emotional battle that is experienced as events unfold in the story.
Blue tells Piper that she is “…the only one that’s ever looked past the dirt to see the flowers…” If at any point in your life this sentiment has applied to you in any form, then No Tomorrow is a book that you need to snag a copy of. Let your brain walk into the world that Cole has fabricated and let the experience wash over you and change your heart and outlook on both your own experiences and those of others. It may sound dramatic, but the story of Piper & Blue will positively change you.

Dark and way too long...

I've read all of Carian Cole's writing and love each and everyone, until this one...
Too long and repetitive. Frustrating and dark. I didn't feel sympathy for any of the characters although God knows they suffered enough, but this kind of selflessness and devotion to a dream, shown by the female heroine, does not cut it for me.

A story that will last a lifetime

No Tomorrow has become one of my all time favorite books. This story is one that will stay with you long after you have read it and have you seeing the world differently. I love that not only does it show you that not every relationship is the same but that everyone needs and deserves love. This love story is not your typical love story but to me that's what makes it one of the realist I've read. In the real world relationships come with sacrifice, devotion and even loving someone to the point of pain. Carian this story was amazing and I couldn't put it down. Piper and Evan's story is one that will stay with me forever.

Amazing story!!!

Carian Cole is one of my favorite authors and this book is one of the reasons why. She writes with such passion and with such perspective. I loved this story! It was told in such an amazing way that that takes away (or at least attempts to) the stigma of mental illness and the fact that many people are functioning with undiagnosed and untreated mental illnesses and how it impacts those who love them. This story touched my soul, and that doesn't happen often. Absolutely recommend this book!

Epic Romance

There are loves that can survive the tests of time, distance, heartbreak, tragedy and sorrow. This is a story of that kind of love. It is not always an easy read but you want to keep going because you root for these characters and their love. Every time I had to pause I couldn't wait to get back to Piper and Blue.
One thing about the narration, this one is billed as a duel narration but it reality Aiden only reads a couple chapters. His narration is well used even if it is sparse.

Difficult listen

This book was very well written; however, for people who have mental illness or have had love ones with mental illness, will not find this a sweet love story. For those who do not or have not experienced the realities will love this book because they will not have the baggage of reality overshadowing the story.

A love story of out time.

I’m also in love with Blue, from the very start I knew I’d love him, I also knew from the start what was wrong with him.
Piper may seem naive, and she may well be, but she’s loving and loyal and she’s strong in her commitments to what she believes. And really, I wish more people were like her, me included.

Carian Cole’s writing of love, the finding and the loss off, the depth of despair and the glorious highs, are exquisite.

This is the perfect book to listen to on a rainy weekend, or on warm summer days at the pool.

I originally got this book as I love the narrator Aiden Snow, but he only reads about 5 chapters or so near the end. But it doesn’t matter, as Jillian Macie carries the book well.
I’m so happy I discovered Carian Cole and am about to go and find more hidden gems she’s wrote.

great book about what true love should be

this book is truly long, captivating and frustratingly dedicated to what true love is. shows how easy mental health problems can destroy even the most gifted people but with Love always constant, will prevail. I love the happy ending. thank you for not just a fictional story but an insight on what a lot of people today are going through to stay functional. loved this book.

Long..

Found this story a little long, lots of back and forth. Not the best book i have read. I found the main character a little naive at times. She was too obsessed with getting her happy ending and the blue that she wanted that she dint actually see who he really was. The mental health issues were obvious to me long before the book mentioned them. Not sure i would recommend. Glad i dint spend a credit.

In sickness and in health

Just beautiful! Thrilling, surprising, sad, desperate, heartbreaking and full of love story. It's amazing to see characters who are flawed and/or struggling with mental illness, very refreshing. Nothing's ever black and white

fantastic story

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was longer than any other books I have heard.

The narrator was excellent, but I missed Aiden Snow’s contribution until almost the end of the book. I was in tears for most of the book, as I found it very moving.

As a free book, I can recommend that you give it a try.

Couldn't get enough of this book

What a read. It's long, but I actually loved that - I usually get so sad when I finish a book because I want to hear more from the characters I love, but finally this was a story I could really sink my teeth into and feel like I've got the whole thing. Will be reading again 100000%. Beautiful yet tragic love story. Only just found Carian's books but o.m.g! Will be reading more.

Red flags but of so good.

I don't know how Carian Cole does it. She writes books about people and issues so far disconnected from me but somehow I love it! No Tomorrow is about the love between a homeless man and an everyday woman. Throughout it, there are so many red flags and warnings about why they shouldn't be together but as is typical of CC, there's a HEA. The narrators do a great job and it's just an all over good book.

oh boy!!!

beautiful story, beautifully written. I experience depression and though not as bad as blue there are startling similarities in this noob to my experience,,
18 hours got a bit long. It was drawn out a bit in places which made me anxious.
narrator's did well. Jillian male voice gave me a clear picture of blues temperament. looking forward to her series
