Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Phillip Margolin returns to the corridors of power in Washington, D.C., with an exciting thriller about a ghost ship and the president's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Sarah Woodruff, on death row in Oregon for murdering her lover, John Finley, has appealed her case to the Supreme Court just when a prominent justice resigns, leaving a vacancy.

Then, for no apparent reason, another justice is mysteriously attacked. Dana Cutler, one of the heroes from Margolin's best-selling Executive Privilege, is quietly called in to investigate. She looks for links between the Woodruff appeal and the ominous incidents in the justices' chambers, which eventually lead her to a shoot-out that took place years ago on a small freighter docked upriver in Shelby, Oregon, containing a dead crew and illegal drugs. The only survivor on board? John Finley.

With the help of Brad Miller and Keith Evans, Dana uncovers a plot by a rogue element in the American intelligence community involving the president's nominee to the Supreme Court, and soon the trio is thrown back into the grips of a deadly, executive danger.

With nonstop action, Supreme Justice picks up where Executive Privilege left off, putting listeners right back where they were, on the edge of their seats.

Second in the series

Great storyline. A bit of over explanation of legal theories (lawyers don’t discuss cases like this). It takes a while to get into. Character names and storylines get forgotten but once you have the storylines straight and can piece them together the overall story is great.

Lab Tech Workaholic

I think this book was a great combination of mystery and combined a great description of why Roe vs Wade has been so important to the justice system. Well written. Would recomend.

Love a good mystery...

I have ten books by Phillip Margolin and I enjoyed them all. I do like this series, lawyer, courts, and a good mystery. What more could I ask for? I will continue to buy books by this author. Well worth the credit.

Suspenseful!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I enjoyed listening to this book because it had a great storyline and kept you wondering what was going to happen next.

Would you be willing to try another book from Phillip Margolin? Why or why not?

This is the 3rd book I've read by Phillip Margolin and they have all been equally as interesting.

What about Jonathan Davis’s performance did you like?

Jonathan Davis is one of my favorite voices. He has a nice voice to listen to and plays the different parts well. I will look for books he reads in the future and am glad he has read the other books in this trilogy.

Great Series

There are several great characters in this lawyer series. The plots are interesting and fast paced. The narrator is pretty good too.

"Listen For The Clues"

What did you love best about Supreme Justice?

Do not start with this book unless you have time to really pay attention. Another reviewer stated he missed the clues. This book had many twists so you really had to concentrate or as some other reviewers said they could not follow. This was a good listen that left me saying "wow".

What other book might you compare Supreme Justice to and why?

all of this author books are good. they have a twist in each one so if you are trying to do 2 things that require concentration, then you may miss the clues which pull the book together for you. I have listened to book #1 and #3, the characters are the same, but the books stand alone as the author paints a clear picture. Dana is the character that pulls all the books together, so pay attention when she is featured.

What does Jonathan Davis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

J.D. is the best for Mysteries and Romance reads. He also does so much sci fi, but thats not for me. Check out his reads for Sandra Brown Mean Streak and Charles Brokaw's Professor adventures for a fun listen. Hard core mystery fans may not like these, but they were a fun and entertaining listen. How much real life do you want in every listen?

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The last 3 chapters blew me away! Author likes to have another kicker when he finishes so it leaves you wanting more of his work.

Any additional comments?

If you like a series, then start with #1 as the author builds the characters background in that book. #2 is not the best to start if you have to know about how the characters originally came together. I listened to #3,#1,#2 as I like J.D. more mature voice. If I had to do it again, I would have listened in order.

Another thrilling mystery

A continuation of the previous book...which grabbed and kept my attention...unfortunately, it was clear who some of the bad guys were early into the book...but there were still lots of surprises.
