Publisher's summary

"If you're looking for a great read, I highly recommend Stranded with Stu.... This very much reminded me of Stephen King at his best. It's The Shining meets Misery meets The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Check it out!" (Frank Merle, director/producer/screenwriter of The Employer)

A stranger, a boy, and his imaginary friend...

Twelve-year-old Spencer embarks on a hunting trip with his abusive father, until a tragic accident leaves him alone and lost, deep in the woods. After a horrific bear encounter, Spencer stumbles upon Stu, a bald man who refers to the forest as his domain and claims it's inhabited by otherworldly creatures he calls "the crazies". Next thing he knows, Spencer is locked up in Stu's cabin. But is it imprisonment or salvation?

Haunted by memories of his tumultuous upbringing, Spencer now has to find a way to escape from this strange man and "the crazies" and find his way back home...with only his imaginary friend Abigail to rely on.

With references to Neil Gaiman's Coraline, Stephen King's Cujo, and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, Michael Ende's The Neverending Story, Jack London's White Fang, among many other literary and pop-culture references, Stranded with Stu is a heart-pounding thriller and a coming-of-age tale you will never forget.

Suspenseful Thriller

I enjoyed this suspenseful book about Spencer who has abusive upbringing and his wild adventures with Stu (crazy man) and Abigail (imaginary friend who turns into a cat) in the wilderness. It was full action and twists ending may suggest another book. Recommend to anyone who enjoys suspenseful thriller.
