Publisher's Summary

Where do we come from?

Where are we going?

The stunningly inventive new novel from the world's most popular thriller writer.

Bilbao, Spain

Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology, arrives at the ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend a major announcement - the unveiling of a discovery that "will change the face of science forever." The evening's host is Edmond Kirsch, a 40-year-old billionaire and futurist whose dazzling high-tech inventions and audacious predictions have made him a renowned global figure. Kirsch, who was one of Langdon's first students at Harvard two decades earlier, is about to reveal an astonishing breakthrough...one that will answer two of the fundamental questions of human existence.

As the event begins, Langdon and several hundred guests find themselves captivated by an utterly original presentation, which Langdon realizes will be far more controversial than he ever imagined. But the meticulously orchestrated evening suddenly erupts into chaos, and Kirsch's precious discovery teeters on the brink of being lost forever. Reeling and facing an imminent threat, Langdon is forced into a desperate bid to escape Bilbao. With him is Ambra Vidal, the elegant museum director who worked with Kirsch to stage the provocative event. Together they flee to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch's secret.

Navigating the dark corridors of hidden history and extreme religion, Langdon and Vidal must evade a tormented enemy whose all-knowing power seems to emanate from Spain's Royal Palace itself...and who will stop at nothing to silence Edmond Kirsch. On a trail marked by modern art and enigmatic symbols, Langdon and Vidal uncover clues that ultimately bring them face to face with Kirsch's shocking discovery...and the breathtaking truth that has long eluded us.

Origin is Dan Brown's most brilliant and entertaining novel to date.

Dan Brown is the author of numerous number one international best sellers, including The Da Vinci Code, Inferno, The Lost Symbol, Angels & Demons, Deception Point, and Digital Fortress.

An epic double or even triple hero journey I a classic DB style mirroring today perfectly with a glimpse of the future.

    "Thank You Dan Brown"

I have so many beautiful, hopeful, optimistic ideas about this amazing story, in this book D.B. has pointed my heart towards a very bright future and in light of today’s struggles I truthfully admit that has not been my state for some time now.

I’m excited and inspired by this telling,
Paul Michael does a fabulous narration.

    "Just ok"

Meh. Not my favorite. I figured out the ‘bad guy’ early on and listened to see how long it would take to be revealed. I don’t think this book adds anything to the series. It was just ok. Not great, but not the worst thing I’ve ever read.

"Nice, interesting. Of course a lot of BS."

Good suspense novel. As always it's full of fact and fiction, and a lot of ignorance concerning religion, and science but still good read

    "Timely theme. I've"

I love to read Dan Brown novels because they are so well researched. This particular novel has a very Timely discussion on moral dilemmas. It is almost as if he is writing to all of us to inspect our beliefs and how we behave and how we treat each other. Additionally,
he tackles the time old question of the origin of the species and does it in a very interesting and respectful manner. I listened to this book rather than read it, and I could hardly stop listening to it to get my work done.

    "Ok, but not my favorite."

I didn’t listen to the last 30 -45 minutes. I just got tired of it. It is an interesting premise, but i felt as though the book could have been about two hours shorter.

    "Disappointing"

I eagerly purchased this book because Dan Brown occasionally offers new perspectives on old paradigms. I am taking away little from this. Pace is too slow bogged down with way too many details. Ending was not much of a surprise.

    "Kept me up all night!"

As expected, it took a couple of chapters before Origin "got me". But got me it did - I couldn't stop listening. So many questions - How did we get here? Where are we going? Who killed them? What is the passcode? I had to know. Now, almost 19 hours later, I'm going to take a nap. Recommendation? Start this book early & plan to stay up late.
