A very decent sequel.

This was surprisingly good. Kept me engaged and was a nice follow-up to the first book.

An absolute must listen

I will advice you listen to the title: THE OTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT before you listen to this.Ths is a continuation of that. Not with standing the books are crafted to each be a standalone without the need to read or listen to both.

The reader was great.
The plot was excellent
Suspense was enough
Sidney at his best..... off to his other books.....Will always pay more for his books

Memories of Midnight

Sidney Sheldon was one of the most prolific writers of the 30s-90s, including television (I Dream of Jeanie), film (Easter Parade), Broadway (Annie Get Your Gun) and many novels and TV mini-series based on those novels. Anything you choose to read or watch by Sidney Sheldon will be a delight. He was an amazingly talented man.

The Other Side of Midnight is actually a two-book mystery series dating way back to the early-1970s. Both books are narrated by Steven Pacey. The Other Side of Midnight is just over fourteen hours of listening in unabridged audiobook format, Memories of Midnight just over nine, both released by Phoenix Books.

The Other Side of Midnight plot. A drop-dead-handsome WWII flyer, Larry, has a romantic interlude with a soon-to-be-famous-actress, drop-dead-beautiful Noel. He dumps her. Shortly, a somewhat naive and vulnerable lead character, Catherine, falls for and marries the flyer. The rest of the story is based on years of Noel's obsessive revenge.

Memories of Midnight plot. The story opens with Catherine living in a convent, her memories gone. Within a few years, memories begin to float to the surface and the story continues to a satisfying conclusion.

Narration by Steven Pacey is fine, male/female voices, accents, etc., no complaints. However, bumped the Audible recording to 1.25.

Liked. Everything about the stories. There are amazing twists, surprises, good guys, bad guys, intricate and vivid details. These are page turning, sweeping stories, there are no instances of fill, suspense riddles every chapter. Contrary to other authors of this period, like Herman Wouk or James Clavell, Sidney Sheldon's stories have less purple prose and are action-oriented, probably the results of years in the more visual mediums of television, film, Broadway. Squeaky clean reads, no explicit sex nor offensive language.

Not so hot. That there is no more Sidney Sheldon. He died in 2007.

Highly recommended mysteries. Enjoy!

Sidney Sheldon- One of the Greatest Storytellers Ever!!! Steven Pacey- One of the Greatest Narrators Ever!!!

I will always and forever be a big Sidney Sheldon fan. He has inspired me in more ways than none. And like many of his other stories, this one did not disappoint. However, there were a few inconsistencies in his storyline, but this only encouraged me to admire him even more, knowing that he was only human. Reading his novels, I never noticed the inconsistencies. It was when listening to the audiobooks, I started noticing things in the stories that contradicted one another. For instance, in The Other Side of Midnight, Larry Douglas had spontaneously flown his wife, Catherine, off to Paris. In Memories of Midnight, Catherine told one gentleman she had never even been to Paris. Also in The Other Side of Midnight, Constantin Demiris’ wife, Melina, told her outraged parents that the affair her husband was having with Noelle Paige was one like many of his past extramarital affairs that would eventually come to an end, like all the others. In Memories of Midnight, Melina’s parents were killed in an accident when she was 13, and she was left to be taken care of by her brother, Spyros Lambrou, who was 10 years older than her. There were a few others in many other stories, but even still, this never deterred me from being a big Sidney Sheldon fan. He was a storyteller that, like the rest of us, was flawed in the best ways possible. It just feels good to know that one of my biggest idols was merely a human like myself. Even still, to me, he will always and forever be a Master Storyteller. Steven Pacey has got to be one of the greatest narrators and voice actors ever. The way he throws his voice with those different accents is unbelievable. I get so caught up in the characters I sometimes forget it’s him doing the characters. Very impressive!!!
